  1. Hello again, here's my measurements, I'm still no closer to finding the battery: Longest side is 420mm, shortest side is 410mm, width (difficult to measure because of curves, so based on sides) is 101-102mm, depth is 43mm - still tearing my head out.
  2. Thanks! looks like they are slightly different but will contact...
  3. Sorry for the delay in replying folks. I am the OP - the battery on the right is my battery - the mate icon one. I'll measure it and post this again. I thought i had struck gold by purchasing the one on the left from ebay. As you can see it's a cm too long, even 1.5 goddammit!! This is a 48v10ah battery. It's almost like they don't exist. I will post dimensions...
  4. Hi folks, hope you are all doing well. I have a Mate Icon. It's really great after a few teething issues. Motor is 500W - needs a 48v 10ah battery. Problem is the manufacturer doesn't have ANY spare batteries and I'd like one, or even two spare. DATE (not Mate) are based in Netherlands and make custom 48v Mate X batteries but not my kind for the ICON which is slimmer. Long shot - in the absence of off-the-shelf batteries - what are my options? Get something built? Where? Thanks in advance!
  5. Update, it was the brakes wearing in, and very *very* careful alignment of the pads. Seems it doesn't take much for the pads to drag... Thanks.
  6. I have this bike and it's fantastic. It looks like a fairly regular bike and as long as you are pedaling and not using the throttle, no one will give you any trouble. It is fine at 20mph by the way.
  7. Hello good people. First post. I have a new Mate Icon 500w. I road tested the X and it was great but too heavy to fold. I am partly disabled. I was delighted to have gotten one of the last Mate 500 City / Icon and it is the ideal weight and power for me. A 250w motor is not enough. so far so good. I had an ebike shop here in Edinburgh check my build and gears. All good except at low speeds my motor sounds like it groans / rattles. I thought it might be disc brakes but it freewheels ok! this noise only occurs with motor on. here is a recording https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/rUbkoQrv3uwRuPaP9 Is this just typical of this motor or is there a way to upgrade this narrow 20” wheel motor? what else could it be any advice appreciated- warrantee is good
  8. https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/dhj8bkUdFpg7Q2Ak6 I’m getting mad noise like this on a brand new mate icon bike - is this what you mean?
