  1. Waiting for delivery from Southampton to my local dealer of my new (2nd) Eagle. Due next week. How's things going with yours after a year ???
  2. Just awaiting my new Freego Eagle. Coming up from Southampton to my nearest dealer in Sandwich Kent. Had my last Eagle for a couple of years, sold it for a good price and now need a new one. Freego are by far the best Electric Bikes that I have tried (IN MY OPINION) and in my Price Range. The 17.5AH Battery sure takes you a good run. All I need now is a Pedelecs Group near me.
  3. Coincidence .... Went out this afternoon on my Eagle to put a prescription into the nearest chemist (3 Miles each way) It was closed. Anyway on the way home I saw at a distance of a good quarter mile a cyclist coming towards me with a brilliant Flashing headlight. No one could have missed seeing him. As he passed his rear light was doing its bit as well.
  4. Having read all the replies and ideas to this thread I have invested in some very bright LED Front and rear flashing lights that I intend to keep on ALL the time i am riding.
  5. Last week a young woman driver, window wound right down, it was a very hot day, looked me in the eye from about 20 feet before starting to pull out of Tescos Faversham right in front of me. I deliberately braked late (Excellent Discs) so I stopped with my front wheel almost touching her. Even managed to make the brakes squeal. She stopped and said "Very sorry I did not see you" As I said she had looked me straight in the eye seconds earlier.
  6. I think you are getting carried away with size needed. My Caravan Leisure battery 120amp has needed to be mains charged once in the last 5 years. That was over a Christmas + New year rally a few years back when we never saw the sun for days and days. Normally my Solar Panel 17watt max in full sun and about 18" x 12" is size is enough to keep the battery topped up all the time. I am sure a carrier sized Panel on a bike would help a lot.
  7. Has anyone heard of a Snooper E-Bike Compact Folder ???
  8. Has any manufacturer or inventor come up with a way of charging an electric bikes 36v battery with a solar panel yet. Be nice to have one built into a rear carrier :o
  9. Electric Bikes Rule O.K. Just nipped into town to Morrisons for urgent supplies for tonight's meal on my FreeGo Eagle. Round trip only 7 miles. Without the E.B. we would have gone without said urgent supplies. Not worth getting the car out. Days of 100% pedalling are gone at 71 years old, Dynesys in my back and a six month old full replacement knee. Electric Bikes Rule !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tony of Graveney :o
  10. It's just I have been quoted £19.99 for a 48 that does fit within the chainguard. Cheers Tony B
  11. Sprocket Would a 48 tooth front sprocket do the trick. It would fit inside the chain guard ????????
  12. Eagle Battery Not sure who you are asking but if it's me. I ain't got a clue. There's nothing marked on the Battery Box. Tony
  13. £999 as well I also paid £999 for mine and was told there were only two left at that price from the dealer in Southampton so I grabbed one. My nearest dealer in Sandwich , Kent has 'Eagle Crossbar', that looks like mine from the photo on their website, at £1,199. Their All Terrain is £1,399. As you say at £999 it's a good price. After a full charge have done around 15 miles today and the fourth light is flickering. Cheers Tony of Graveney.
  14. What a shame Aldby hates the bike so much. As it is such an awful bike why not put it on EBay and get rid of it. . Achieved my ambition yesterday I had another long run 12/15 miles in the sun and managed to run the battery flat. Left me about 2 miles to cycle home. I will agree with Aldby in one thing. The gearing is too low. Have not needed to get out of 6th gear yet. . It's by far the best of the three Electric bikes I have owned.
  15. Me again. Having read a lot about the cost of replacement batteries (My last bike a IZIP Trailz battery was £90) but the Eagles 36v 16a will cost a lot more in a couple of years. Therefore I have started a new savings account at my Building Society. Only £10 a month but it should take the sting out of the tail of the cost of a new Battery.
  16. Have had my Eagle for 8 days now. Done a few miles but not as many as I would have liked due to the cold North East wind we have all the time in the South East. The bike is great with a 36v 16a battery. Hills are nothing to it. The battery indicator on the handlebars has four lights for power left. After a good few miles up and down hills etc it still has three lights on. Trying to flatten it a few time as you are supposed to with a new Lithium Battery but its going to take a while.
