Sakura shopper
Hmm what I'm worried about is it going by itself. Apparently the MK1 and some early mk2s are wired backwards or something and go when it's negative signals or something meaning it might go when the throttle is off and when it's twisted stop thus being quite deadly. The other thing is as it is a 6 wire it has a self diagnosis mode will it work without the connections. I'm tempted to replace the controller and throttle but the question is .. . What with. Is there a controller I can connect my pedal assist to and the brakes sensor and battery without changing those. I mean if I lose pedal assist oh well I don't mind throttle only I don't pedal really expect up hill and to start I use it as self powered usually. But what controller do I fit etc. I just don't know.

I wish that had worked so a 6 wire throttle arrived. It has the battery indicator in the throttle anoyingly so it's 6. It didn't so much as glimmer. I didn't have a wiring diagram though. I'm thinking of changing the whole controller and throttle but idk if they make one that works with the pas and brake sensor in the bike that's there. If I have to bypass the PAS and have it throttle only I guess oh well but I'd like to keep the brake sensor.

Controller replacement
I've a sakura (powaybke shopper MK2). It's dead. Battery's and motor work but no throttle or power. We think the controller has failed and the wires from the battery. I want to replace everything basically. Is there a controller I can fit that will work with the motor and PAS sensor and that I can fit a new throttle. I'd love to keep the brake sensor but only if possible.. does anyone know the wiring and can tell me what wire does what and what kit to fit. I'm clueless.. I have a 6 wire throttle I bought but again clueless as to how it goes. Kinda need a dummies guide to making it work

Sakura shopper
I have a sakura shopper s305 I believe an old shopper one. It has no throttle. Will a 6 wire one fit or is it like a powabyke where it may not work and run all the time or something. Does anyone know if one would fit or where to get one. Found this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124531914675 just not so sure. 6 wires with a battery indicator I know but not a lot more than that. Any wiring diagrams or advice? thanks

Powabyke SLA Charger
Yh I mean I mainly like them because they are cheap.

Powabyke SLA Charger
Tbh the deep cycle sla they use can do a good 300 cycles or something. It's not as good as LI in terms of cycles but its cheap to replace. You can get 3 new sla cells for like 50-80. I was quoted 120-400 for my old li bike and the cells are all individual you can't just swap them out. With sla they unclip. I think I'll just by new 15ah sla ones when mine go. It's better than like having to buy a new charger and fit a new lithium one for several hundred. They are light but bad for the environment too. Sla is recyclable easily . I considered sla but why I don't need a light bike and they do lose capacity quicker potentially If your only using sla down to half and charging back up like me I imagine they'll degrade slow. Li every discharge even half counts doesn't it. Think how long car batteries last compared to laptop and phone ones. If you regularly run it flat no get lion. Thing is the 3 batteries do like 30 odd miles brand new hard to run flat and that's only the 12 ah ones the 15ah probably do about 40 .I've got down to nearly 30% as the middle charge light was flickering and going off that's the lowest and I'd done about 15-20 odd miles. The batteries must be 18 months or two years. I'll change them in about 6 months but they'll still have some life left I'm just picky. Sla is what the elderly have used for decades to get to bingo or buy a paper in the scooters use a third of the power and pop it straight on charge . It's great to commute if your not running it flat.

Old Powabyke shopper?
Oh fair enough. I don't see much of a difference with the pas all it means is you have to pedal to twist thr throttle and it's a little less powerful. Apparently it does 50% of the work for you but I'd say more. Mines the mark 2 2002 mind you Idk the mark one had it. .. I've noticed Powabyke shoppers are exactly the same as sakuras so idk if Powabykes made all the bits of not. I use P mode anyways most of the time not A the assist ..

Old Powabyke shopper?
I just changed my 20 year old tyres in April on my my shopper they'd done well. Only on second set of batteries and they'll do till the new year. It's better than the modern bike I had tbh. I did have to get a new charger and do the break pads and chain but that's it. . it's such a good bike. I twist the throttle and woodh of at 12mph with no effort or I can peddle. I love the control of the PAS even that's on a throttle not a consistent one. So for workout cycling I cycle normalt and then if I hit a big hill twist it to turn on pas and it helps me. My old one was on or off. Not so good.. yh Powabykes forever lmao. Just about to use mine now .

Grant Shapps wants a speed limit for cyclists
Idc ebikes are limited to 15.5 anyways and my old powaybke only does 12.5 ish nowadays it's getting a bit tired. Like if you go above 15.5 you have to pedal wiut no help and that's so frustrating . Used to do it a bit on my old cyclamatic ebike but with 3 leaded acid cells on this one it'd be a nightmare anyways.

Wisper 806 throttle
That's a clever I've seen that on other bikes where you have a throttle and so long as your legs go round a bit it actually does 99% of the work for you but tbh momentum does it all for you really and you're barely doing more than letting them go round.
