  1. I actually made a pre-order of the Flit M2 after doing a test ride. I'll keep using the Analog Motion until then. The other day I got a reminder while I really like foldable bikes, though, and that made me gave up of going back to full size bikes. I got a puncture midway home in the evening, and no chance of taking it on the bus, tube, or getting an Uber home...
  2. While waiting for either the Fiido D21 to come back, or to find a place to test ride the Ado Air 20, I'm renting the analogue motion one for £58 a month: https://blike.com/recycle/recjYVjivOJRa2xyQ It's a cadence sensor, but it's doesn't feel as bad as others I tried, it's quick enough to get the power started at a traffic light, it's light and easy to pedal without power, doesn't look like an ebike so doesn't attract attention, and I actually ended up making the commute 5 minutes shorter than I did on the Fiido, the motor seems to have a bit more kick. Just a temporary solution but it's cheaper than renting Lime or Human Forest bikes. I have to take the battery out every time, but it's like a water bottle, and I can charge it at home or in the office without having to bring the bike up
  3. This one is also interesting: https://eco-move.co.uk/amx-black-edition-lowstep/ No info about which kind of sensor, though
  4. Yeah the C22 looks nice as well and at a very good price, though the Tenways is just 15kg and has carbon belt, which is appealing at 1299. "quick release/turning headset so the handlebar twists to be parallel to the frame" What do you mean? I haven't seen anything like that
  5. The X has 2 extra kgs, the D21 is already heavy as it is. The D21 is missing from the Fiido UK website, and it's out of stock in ElectroHeads and BicycleLand. On mybikescheme.co.uk it shows as pre-order, which is weird, and that site also feels a bit shady, and definitely don't want to get it on eBay. So I'm seriously considering the Ado Air 20, even though they're lying about the real weight of the bike and it's actually not 16kg, but 17.8kg, so same more or less same as the Fiido. I would actually love to get something like a Tenways CGO600, but they don't do S size or step-through, and it would be always on the way in my flat...
  6. Yes, I believed it was a real one, this was in Fudge Cycles in Chiswick, I mentioned the delay they didn't say anything. But I was kind of expecting it since it would not be as good as a torque sensor, I had seen reports online of people mentioning that already
  7. I tried the MiRider One today. Ergonomics are good, didn't mind either the 16'' wheels or the single speed, it rides well. However, coming from the Fiido torque sensor to the cadence sensor on this one is a big no no. It takes too long for the motor to kick in, and on junctions that's going to be a big downgrade. Also, it folds smaller but not considerably smaller, so I'm either going to get another Fiido D21 or try the Ado Air 20.
  8. I found this: https://wheelsunleashed.co.uk/product/dahon-kifo-e-bike/ https://speedycycle.shop/product/dahon-kifo-e-bike/ The two websites are basically clones of each other, which is suspicious, the bike itself seems to be this one: https://usa.dahon.com/products/k-one-ebike-hub-drive?variant=42565954764989 Anyone has experience with either this Dahon model or any of those two shops?
  9. The Fiido doesn't really roll on it's own when folded, you end up having to carry it, and it's not easy to carry as well
  10. This time I'll be able to use the cycle to work scheme, electroheads accepts it and they have Fiido and a lot of other brands I'm thinking of going with another option, though, since I found the Fiido D21 cumbersome to carry. I also realised that on an eBike I can get by without gears after all. I'm considering two other options in addition to the Fiido: * Ado Air 20, the frame shape makes it easier to carry, has hydraulic brakes, and I don't need to worry about chain oil anymore * MiRider One, even though it has the same weight as the Fiido and the Ado, it folds much smaller, so I'd be able to carry inside everywhere. It doesn't have torque sensor, though, and the 16'' wheels might feel less comfy than the 20'', will have to test ride carefully The Flit M2 is also interesting, just 14kg, but much more expensive than the others, and they would only deliver in the summer
  11. I got £874.94, I bought it for £899, so I got almost full price (not counting the lock, pannier rack and bag, and quadlock mount) I'm going to go for another ready made bike, so I can use the cycle to work scheme. I'm thinking of getting a lighter 16'' ebike this time so I can bring it to the flat every day
  12. I finally got the claim paid today!
  13. The bike was in the bike storage room of my building, locked to the rack. I was using a Foldy Lock, which is rated Sold Secure Silver. The problem was that they actually disassembled the metal bike rack in the storage room that had a very stupid week point I haven't realized... One of the connections wasn't bolted, just a standard screw... I'm using Eversure Cycle, I insured both the Fiido and my Tern for £87.06 total. Still waiting on the payment, just submitted the claim 2 days ago
  14. So it got stolen... Waiting for the insurance to pay and will get a new bike. Is there anything else on the market now I should consider instead of the D21?
  15. Also, adjusting the saddle a bit further back relative to the seat post than what I had in the Tern improved the riding
  16. Did a longer ride with the D21 today. It was quite windy, so noticed a big improvement over the regular bike Two notes: * When stopping at a light or junction, I need to remember to change the pedal assist back to 1, otherwise when starting to pedal there's a bit too much power, as my muscle memory is making me pedal too hard and the torque sensor picks it up. On the other hand, if I have to stop quickly and didn't have time to reduce the gear back to 1, it's fine, the gear doesn't really matter when the motor kicks in * I keep switching from kph to mph by mistake when I want to switch from pedal assist 1 to 3, need to click slowly to avoid it
  17. I'm using this, it's not great, but it gives a decent enough view to be usable: https://thebeam-europe.com/products/corky-urban
  18. Can you share the link from where you got it? My first rack attempt from Amazon wasn't compatible, need to return it
  19. Yes, we know about Tern and Fiido broken frames, you don't need to keep reposting it
  20. I meant this: Not a big deal though, I can attach it to the head tube They say "Electrochains UK is an authorised dealer of every brand that we carry." on https://electrochains.co.uk/pages/about-us. I emailed them asking about the switched brakes, and they just said "Yes all the bikes sold are UK import models." :/ I'll go and find some youtube videos and hopefully will be able to swap them without making a mess Yeah, saw that, $64 with shipping It's definitely a nicer ride than the Estarli E20. The riding position on my Verge P10 feels a little bit better, but the Fiido is still fine. The pedal assist feels quite smooth, no unexpected kicks, though I still haven't done a longer ride with proper hills yet. I do wish it had those magnetic bits on the wheels to keep them together while folded. Anyone found something that works from ebay or amazon or somewhere else? I also miss that typical triangle on the frame that the Terns, Dahons and even the Estarli have, would make it a bit easier to carry
  21. So the Swytch kits are taking a very long time to deliver (unless I pay even more, annoying business model), so I ended up selling the Tern Link D7i on gumtree and got a Fiido D21. It arrived today. Did just a short cycle around my area, rides well both with assist on and off. The brakes came swapped, so need to fix them before doing a longer cycle. I got it from electrochains which is an UK shop, so wasn't expecting that. The default handlebars and seat are actually no too bad, I expected I would have to replace them, but I might actually hold off on upgrading them for now. Mudguards were included, which is nice, some youtube videos said it came with them, but on the Fiido website only the D11 is listed as including them out of the box. Still need to get some folding pedals and figure out a compatible rack. Only annoying thing of the bike is that it doesn't have the standard bottle cage screws in the frame that you can use for lock holder, so need to figure out a different way to attach the foldylock, though I already knew that. Interesting enough, the frame has a Dahon sticker
  22. Decided to play it safe and got the Fiido D21
  23. It's just 9 kms each way to work with a couple of 5% to 7% hills on the way, so I'm not worried about range (I'm assuming that will be hard to get more than 50km, those 100km are very ver optimistic). I can get the Fiido D21 for 900 or this one for 1030, the 1.5kg difference in weight and samsung battery are tipping me into the ADO way, but worried the lack of gears will make it more unpleasant to ride.
