  1. Absolutely how I work, 6/1.436 Or 8.4/2.209 what was the question ? 3500 18650’s have their place, but dear 50E 21700 if space allows
  2. I don’t think any of the keyboard lawyers would argue with that, My point was only that (Samsung) 21700 cells give you more w/hr per gram than 18650’s. Yes, wallet call but no going back once you know. Changed the game for me, my latest battery cost 75% of a complete Aldi ebike but takes me where I want to go. The other 25% spent on s/h cycles and a bit added for motor. One big fkr weighs an awful lot less than 2 of Op’s and goes 3x as far, what was the question ?
  3. Sorry, think capacity in w/hr /grams,
  4. Massive, heavy, illegal and dangerous That’s what keyboard warriors said about mine. The illegal bit is true, 48v max, cop with voltmeter has you nabbed Difference being, mine was the most expensive thing I’ve bought for bicycle, more than my Giant dually, ready to convert, much more than motors. The only thing we need to spend money on, is batteries , 21700 changed the game
  5. Maybe an early BBS02 ? OP didn’t tell us, but if yours are M5, thats not the same as mine, which are M6 (6mm x 1mm pitch) Easily heli-coiled although lower one is blind, so I’d have to take cover off to see if your method would work there. But if OP’s are M5, tap ‘em M6, job’s done Re price, if a tenner meant not eating or not being able to afford the lectric to charge your ebike to get to work, fair enough, otherwise it’s about a pint and a half (London) you have to forgo as punishment for stripping threads. Very mild considering the crime. Re red Loctite. When it comes to motor removal, the perceived benefits may be lost. Tip, narrow flame on torch, directly centre of cap head, cherry red BEFORE you try to loosen
  6. Might not .? The room around the thread could be described such Like waving a pencil in the Albert Hall
  7. That is seriously creative thinking BUT, why wouldn’t you just heli-coil it .? permanent and better than new, cheaper than chips too
  8. Don’t even think of the elephant in the room !
  9. An innocent bystander’s viewpoint No dog in this fight at all, but I can see Lily has won. Local village id called her out, perhaps inadvertently or mistakenly. Lilly took him outside and corrected him, cool.
  10. Already mentioned, hardcase upp jobby, not a Chammy
  11. Wasn’t a trick question, I don’t see a problem, not expecting one, but if someone had an idea, even a better source, I’m all ears, esp before I buy more of em Range is really hard to explain to those on flatlands. I live on the coast, can follow foreshore using next to no juice, best of 140km (85 miles) on 720w/hr, battery not flat. In mountains I’ve used all that in 30km and sweating like a pig. Our lunch run is 40 odd miles over a 10O0 ft mountain (hill for woollybacks) up and down it twice. I can do it easily on 720w/hr, my wife, same motor and battery struggles to do it but goes way slower. Exactly the same as petrol, I like to be first to fuel stop but use less than the others (motorbikes). Still I fit big tanks, I hate petrol stations. ebike trips, 400miles in a week, best yet, this battery will make that easier (and spare battery in one saddlebag gave it a bit of a wobble too)
  12. I take that as greatest compliment, especially as I thought it was “arty” of course I looked at it, shows the battery size for az, just clarifying re his “massive” comment, not fishing for praise or somesuch. some people like all the beseenbesafe stuff too
  13. pictures may be deceiving, it’s actually the “small “ triangle , fits most hardtail mtb’s and duallies of 10 years ago Here it is in my Kona hardtail, didn’t mean to be arty but flash shows the be seen be safe reflective stripe, peer past that for battery. illegal,? Not where I am, other posters question the uk rules, I won’t be there till June so not really relevant to me. For others whose local bobby demand 13S battery, same size can be bought so configured. If you meant capacity, I’d have thought that obvious, RANGE, think multi day trip through Wales or Scotland, not commuting or going out for Sunday ride. I’ve taken 2 (13S) x 720watters and only just made last orders, this is more for less weight. Hope that helps AFAIK, all UPP triangle bats are hard case, at least all those I’ve seen in real life and on the net. I prefer soft but take your own choice by all means. This bag is proper tough, picture in first post shows huge velcro strap over crossbar, others smaller but very well attached. of course anyone that rides with loose or broken straps may have a problem, likewise their wheels and brakes etc, we used to have bicycle maintenance lessons at school, I guess those days are gone, blame the manufacturer. Yes, sent from China but not to uk, I may send one there too, it is too high capacity to fly, I’m thinking of flying my dually for some big trips, possibly sell the battery in September (and fly bike home again )
  14. Anyone see a problem ? 1800watt/hr, 7 odd kilos, fits all my bikes, just seems good to me
  15. Thanks heaps for that Az, best emotor review I’ve ever seen, concise words and dyno readings without some smug git filming himself for a video in the web. 52v out of the box woo hoo 24 amps from controller, safe. So nearly the 25 my 02 gets happily, I’d possibly not notice. 73% effeciency on his “ dyno” interesting too, I’d like to see 02 and HD under same test. I “think “my HD is better but may have to rig up similar kit to find out. As and when I can program one of these (Dan Nillson’s OSF .?) myself, I’m in We’re all different but from this I’d have level one similar to first firmware, SFA assistance till you press hard, sounds ideal for shared paths etc, flick it up for road work, add some throttle for hills He doesn’t mention but it would be brilliant if throttle immediately overides pas without the delay of tsz2 or jerkiness of Bafang. Both fixable with OSF , maybe this won’t need to be ? Legal sticker as per thread title too, what’s not to like ?
  16. If true, all coppers need is a voltmeter, over 48v, go to jail Love it
  17. House of parliament law or your opinion ? Not in any legislation I’ve seen, certainly not EU law If true, you might note 48v battery fully or even half charged breaks your rule please elucidate facts not utter bs !
  18. Power to you Woosh, a bit like deja vu again really, jerry has been onto this for years, rule only says 250watts continuous and sticker to say so. No mention of max output in rules and we now accept input watts not output. Bosch cleverly claim more torque in newton metres every upgrade whilst maintaining 250w sticker, no-one cares. Speed limit is their clever bit, ebay full on dongles to bypass but their hands are clean, like pontious pilate. Ebikegate might be coming, watch the Bosch execs run ! That’s interesting, do they let you change high and low voltage cutouts ? As I’m sure you know tsz2 you had to reflash firmware, either theirs or osf before you could run 52v battery, it would be nice if they let us have access to these at last as well as current values for levels etc. Also, my biggest gripe with Tongy orig firmware was the delay on hitting throttle, does z8 fix this with orig firmware?. Throttle overides pas immediately like with osf ? No power at all going up steep hills sucks.I learnt to hit throttle at the bottom of hills, regulate as needed to climb. Hitting max torque sensitive power fails badly, spin or wheelie in the loose uphill off camber stuff. Bafang with osf so much better. Momentary 25amps at 52v would be nice for steep hills . Not continuous, obviously, that would be illegal. Rules are Dutch, for flatlands, in Wales or even Chingford, speed downhill is not regulated by watts or newton metres but gravity. We also have uphill, mumbo is good I do hope they (or you) told her the crime. Junction box rules are simple, enter only when clear to exit. Car in front breaking down or falling asleep is exactly why. I’d nuke em. London often at a standstill cos of silly t*rts blocking the junctions. £75 way too cheap for the livelihoods at stake. I got fined more for very minor speeding, hurting or holding up no-one. Glad to hear they’re finally onto it. Of course the Green Man roundabout worked well before they put lights there but that’s another story. Now the junction box is everything, maybe time for bigger roundabout ?
  19. Interesting, obviously we’ve all been using the same universal throttle on Bafang and Tong Shen for years, many options to change. Your basic one looks like same old, is pinout different ? only 3 wires, shouldn’t be hard to get it to normal standard Your upspec one looks trick, aesthetic joy or better (smoother) action ? It would be good to read of someone actually using and testing a toseven hard, ie giving it 52v , some amps and steep climbs, any links .? I need tech detail not fancy youtubes vids that tell you nothing
