  1. An up date ordered a new light from the Fido website. No mention about no stock but now it seems no stock there awaiting a delivery. begs the question now how on earth do they sell any M1 Pro bikes if they are awaiting a light .. thinking maybe a battery light will be better. As they cant even say when there going to be in stock
  2. I am not well known in the area and very very seldom go to town usually in the car . but for a change a ride about. Decided just to pop in for a tin of fizzy drink came out it it was damaged . just ordered a new lamp from Fido. they tell me its 7 to 8 days after receiving the order before they dispatch Then up to 21 days to get here . then saw this on EBay. the very same light same spec same make cheaper and 2 to 3 days delivery . hows that work .
  3. It’s a large bike and has a cage on the back as well .. it was a small shop ..
  4. Ok now wired back up everything works except the light. Even the horn works. So ordering one today. Shame as you can't just get the bulb on the board you have to get the full light
  5. Thankyou i have just asked now how long the delivery will take ..
  6. the front light was smashed while it was unattended . now nothing works so it was chained to a bike rack just while u nipped into a shop i came out and the front light has been smashed and the wire to the throttle has also been cut . now i have nothing at all so is there another front light i can replace this one with and how would i wire up the three wires any help would be greatful this is a Fido M1 Pro 2004
  7. I use engine oil and have no problems chain run through a oily sponge then run through a clean cloth . done this way back in the early 70s
  8. There is no password to lock the speed. And removing the throttle means it’s harder to peddle above the 15.5 mph. You can set the speedometer to not go above 15.5 . there is no stamp on my motor at all just a sticker
  9. It has a throttle but it’s disconnected still there but does not work the motor has a 250watt sticker but no other markings .
  10. Here’s an image of mine. Or is it .? I know what it is and how it’s been made now into a legal uk bike Sometimes ….
  11. Are all Trioblade e-bikes use the same 250 watt motors. even though they are cheap seems they are still not uk road legal because of the throttle speed. disabling the throttle will that then be a uk legal bike .
  12. Mine is emphysema thats a lung problem most people would just sit in a chair and do nothing . i am stage 4 I do what I can and do not rely on others if possible . i peddle when I can and throttle when I need a breather . stability is no problem I used to kayak but never kept up with the others . And knew when it was time to stop kayaking . riding my bike gets me out to the local beach for fishing a disability scooter would not go across any rough ground . the beach is only 1 1/4 miles away and only cross a road the rest is waste land and cycle tracks .
  13. Snap I am in the same condition also in the northeast and thinking the same with the throttle acute severe emphysema that’s stage four so peddling or ghost peddling is ok . but not sure I could just peddle especially pulling away . this is a freedom thing for me aged 70 .
  14. It was 500W but now it’s a 250W. that’s what the sticker says there are no details inside the motor but lightly marked of the wheel motor casing removable plate. easy fix and it’s all Matt black spray paint . its the throttle I think the problems going to be. peddled up speed is 15.5 mph no more. so without a throttle and when it’s removed it should be road legal and , adheres to the EAPC regulations. I hope unless someone can Say more .
  15. Peddling the bike does 15.5. But so does the throttle. so I am going to disconnect the throttle hence the throttle will not work but peddling at 15.5 is ok seems this is legal as peddle assist and no throttle. as I can peddle 15.5 mph. But if I reset the speed by unlocking when I peddle again will this be reflected in speed or does the peddling speed stay the same at 15.5 mph.
  16. I am disabled and 70 years old I have a disability scooter I use a lot but now have an e-bike that I can go out fishing with down to my local beach . Could not do that before I was dependent on others with room for a scooter . So yes changed my life style a lot . however have a few issues to sort out with a throttle…..
  17. I was thinking I may remove my throttle . Why. Because I can throttle only to top speed either 15.5 mph. Or 25. Mph throttle only so now thinking would peddle assist still work upto 15.5 mph in the uk. so what if I reset the speed to higher would I be able to go faster peddling upto 24 mph or still only 15.5 mph. or as a cheat fit a open only reed switch and magnet somewhere.
  18. Thanks for all the information . the next thing is trying to work out how to disable the throttle at a moments notice. Just in case I am near on 70 now and use a disability scooter it’s limited to 6 mph but my Bike throttle. Is not limited is there a temp fix that can be turned both on and off . i can restrict and de restrict the speed quite fast if i have to . But not the throttle. could I use a 10 watt normally open reed switch . not sure where to fit and activate yet still thinking about it . but a 4 mm thick and 14 mm long approx could be put anywhere i guess
  19. I use mine just for fishing anyway so not on the road at all mainly waste ground then onto a beach and that’s rough and muddy . Very close to where I live . its also worth noting I never catch much fishing. Except for plenty of sea weed . but gets me out. Otherwise I would net be abl3 to get there
  20. A friends spins up to 15.5 and is a uk legal one. I thought the law was 15.5 so would it be out and what’s the out mean Taken away . spins upto 15.5 on the stand with bake wheel off and dies the same peddling and only on the throttle . so I can’t see why that could be breaking the law or am I missing something. mine does the very same thing
  21. Ok thanks a lot to think of I have already done the increase speed thing and it’s faster I will have another rethink if it’s worth possibly damaging something with a shunt I have a hill in mind to try it on now so see if it goes up it’s not a long hill but a trioblade fat wheeled with a 250 motor won’t go up it but I have in the past so worth having another try first … but Thankyou all for your replies . Again Thankyou
  22. Not much info here. This is a replacement from the Fido website
  23. Is that the same as the battery as I have not taken the controller out but the battery is capacity 12.8 Ah / 614.4 Wh. Voltage 48 volts will remove the controller if that’s the only option. The motor is 500 watts
  24. I have a Fido M1 Pro. Yep taking my chances I know but anyone shunted on of these and what results did or do you get out of it .
  25. I have two types of helmet 1 is a geko with full visor the other is a moto x that has a clear visor and an internal sun visor. i never used my bike until i got my helmets and I am 69. Made sense to me to wear one. i did think it was law to wear one but only for motor scooters and motorbikes . but if not law it is common sense to wear one .
