  1. I would love to take a look, im not a professional web developer though i do this for fun but have built two sites in the past and im working on one now. Thats the problem with any site is traffic. I bet Russ had a similar concern with this forum. Like i mentioned before my idea would be to give users a platform to build on rather than me get bikes off manufacturers and do editorial reviews although if anyone does want to send me a bike to review i wouldnt say no The system i use works by I have a say Jon bike and want to write a review as i think its an awful bike but there are a few good points for improvement i go to this review site sign in search for a Jon bike oh its not listed. Ok i now click add a listing, i complete some details about the bike upload a picture of one (optional) now the listing is there i can add my review. Rate it and then im done. Or I am the importer of Jon bike and i want to publicise my bike so i go to this website and as Jon bike is new i add a listing i put all factual info on there and a promo pic there we go i now wait for users to review it. I can also use this feedback to make imporvements to the bike for the next model These things dont happen over night and it is reliant on users but as i have been speaking to company directors they have been telling me how many bikes they are shifting per month. If this figure is accurate there are loads of potential reviews. Yes some cant be arsed but through say this forum, dealers and importers letting users know of its existence it could work and then we will have a db of user reviews and not editors. I find that because editors get sent top end bikes as well as lower end they "can" be a bit snobby about bikes. This was also the opinion of some dealers. Therefore when a budget bike comes out that bike will get slated more than what is fair. I know there are exceptions as always but newbies dont trust editors they trust tother consumers that i do know. That was the original idea i had, it was a spure of the mo thing and i blurbed lol Hi flecc see my paragraph above. The thing is you sound that experienced that you wouldnt trust a general consumer. I am the same with cars i feel i have the skill to trust my own knowledge i dont even trust Parkers etc as i think they are easily influenced and Topgear well they are just grown men making a funny tv show lol. Most people that arnt clued up do trust other consumers is that logic built on sand im not sure but i do know i would rather read real world consumer reviews on "most" things i buy. Thanks for your replies though, very constructive
  2. Well i for one are making plans to come i was going to pop down to Onbike today but i helped my wife at a craft fayre and then thought ill go to the show next weekend so i can try lots of bikes. I have never been before to any bike show, its free so ill be popping down on the Sunday to view whats what and chat to people. In fact im kinda looking forward to it. I just hope the weather holds good. I wont be participating this year on rides but who knows for next year. If people want to be negative i would rather they not go so they dont spoil it. Plus as its been said many many times on this thread, do your own show there is nothing to say there is only room to do one show per year. Presteigne is to the west so why not do one in the Midlands or towards the East? I would probaly go to either just to see what its like. If you cant put up well frankly shut up.
  3. would agree with that i can see functionality changes and it appears VB have done not a bad job of it, its easier to follow posts etc and the design you put on top works well, is clean and looks more modern
  4. Well put and i couldnt have said that last bit any better. Tourism is something we need and the Royal Family bring tourism. They have just focused 2 billion pairs of eyes on our country what an advertisement that is. Im not really a Royalist although i am warming to Wills and Harry but i do enjoy our pomp and stuff lol
  5. I will respond individually when i get home but i think people would value owners feedback, i know many people thay buy producys, services or holidays based on user reviews. I understand the concern though flecc. The system i design give an overall average too plus search facilities etc. Im not really expecting to make money from it well not in near future it was more of an idea just to help people out. With it being a user led experience it would self populate. Similar to trip advisor really.
  6. Thanks for that info i wasnt aware of that mag but no it would be diff. I would like users to review bikes themselves. Plus that site aint free to read specific reviews. I would create a free user led site. Thanks for the suggestion though. Is there any others? Oh and the aim is not to replace this community site by the way, infact i think i could compliment it. Im at Capesthorne Hall today and the net is very slow so if my responses are short and sporadic thats why. If your near pop over its a massive craft fayre were selling home made scented candles
  7. Is there a website for reviewing electric bikes? I have had experience of building review sites before and im considering starting to build one for ebikes and it would also give the opportunity to rate ebike dealers. It would be a standard form you would complete and have a star rating out of 10 for certain categories such as (i would put more thought into the criteria so dont kick off over what i put lol) Overall looks Easy to ride Brakes Suspension Acessories etc For dealers it would also put them on a Geomap so once a listing was created which could be done by a dealer it would have a couple and street view map etc Its just an idea and i would need to put a lot of thought and time into plus cost but i think it may well be worth it if it will help people make informed decisions. It would be a free site to use as well. What are your thoughts?
  8. I understand your concerns about price but its a good quality battery and Bob is confident it will last a while. Chat with him and he will explain it all. If you were to compare the cost of that compared to the running of a car for the same period it is actually a lot cheaper
  9. I like speed but that is just stupid and that is the quickest way of forcing the government to impose stricter monitoring if people start using them. It says the kit is 15kg without batteries so you will have one heavy fast death trap
  10. I organise community events at work over the summer which involve councillors, MPs, VIPs and service stake holders. I also have to deal with road closures, risk assessments, Police, Fire, St Johns, Stoke City etc etc and it gets difficult especially with all the various demands and i have to still do my normal work load on top. I think some valid points have been made on both sides but to a degree i would have to lean towards Onbke and their reasons. Onbike are not suggesting that they want to hold the only UK bike show/race/demo so if other retailers are that bothered then they are welcome to start their own. Some know how much work is involved so cant be bothered, others dont know where to start and some will be keen but dont want to end up in the same position as Onbike. Oh and to hire an events organiser you are talking huge money i mean huge. 2 years ago i put on some festivals in Stoke as i was over worked i managed to get some funding in to pay for an events manager, just to put 4 events on with security, marques, stage, PA etc etc with the aim of 5,000 per event that cost £50k. To manage something like what was described here you will be looking at over 100k because of how spread out it was. Dont get me wrong, the company i hired did an awesome job and everything was thought of and they did it much better than i could have but i dont think it was worth 50k. If you knew 20k people were going to definatley attend you would need to charge at least £10 each plus charging stall higher and you would then just about break even as there will be on costs you hadnt foreseen.
  11. Yes i read that you couldnt just port designs over. I was considering updating when the hype was around before its release but then i found out you have to pay for it as a separate entity as they class V4 as a different product to V3 which some would argue it is but... at the time there was no discount for existing users. That disappointed me.
  12. Ahhh VB 4.1 i havnt actually seen one of these in action till now I ran a V3 forum. Is the admin area similar to V3?
  13. Maybe so but i like to see it and i feel proud of Great Britain and proud to be English. Our monarch is marvelled all over the world. We have friends over in Texas, they are Texan and they stayed up and had their own party to celebrate. Quite ironic really they love our history and our Royal family but they decided to break away lol. I agree with the idea that Charles should abdicate to let Wills take over. I actually think Wills want to change a few things and i bet him and Harry are a right laugh behind closed doors. I reckon at some point tonight after a few drinks Harry will do that T mobile advert lmao. And, i swear at the Church he was cracking jokes about it before Kate got there lol. Kate did look nice although her sister looked stunning in that dress she had on.
  14. Have you given thought to whether you are going for a front or rear motor yet? Im more inclined for a rear on my build. What power ratings are the ezee kits?
  15. Wile that is a lot of money think of how much extra money will be generated through tax. More than £20m will be generated off today alone never mind the extra tourism over the year as a result. Think of it, hotels, transport, confectionery, meals, souvenirs etc etc I tought Wills and Harry looked very smart
  16. Thanks David, i nearly had heart failure then thought i was going to have a much more difficult decision lol but i would be looking at the SE models anyway
  17. Ill watch it i think i always enjoy seeing the military on parade especially the horse guards with all their kit on. I dont really care about the wedding it self just all the show around it I like watching trooping the colour
  18. Watch the wedding and then go out on your bike. In todays culture i bet everyone will be drinking in the afternoon so that means the roads will still be fairly quiet or i will be like deathrace 2000 with all the drink drivers. I would like o think the first one though especially if its a nice day people may make use of their bbqs
  19. Hi roadster where abouts are you? For £800 i i like the Juicy have you ridden any of the bikes yet? If you havnt can you get to Buxton and speak to Bob? If not he does have people selling them in different parts of the country so there might be somewhere near to you. I am also searching for a bike and im trying to ride as many different types and so far the Juicy is very good especially for the price and importantly i dont think you will have any issues with back up, Bob seems very committed to his customers
  20. Would you mind sticking pics up etc after your done im interested to see how this goes as i want to start my own project i just want to find a suitable production bike first then ill be looking for a kit and bike. As its off road im after a bit more power, i dont want to do 500 mph max 30 but preferable more torque for steeper hills etc. Im toying with all sorts of set ups
  21. he he sorry was some dry humour there
  22. Bradgirl I was there last week, Bob will point you in the direction of a steep hill which i just kept going up and down about 4 or 5 times in total and it worked very well. I then went past the shop to the round about headed left and followed that road to the right up a very long hill and when i got to the top i didnt feel tired or sweaty and the journey down was even better lol. I thought the sport Bob had was very comfortable. Im trying a few different brands out to compare plus im having issues with work getting the cycle to scheme thing processed due to redundancies issued its not a scheme issue just my employer. I hope you enjoy and let us know how you get on
  23. Aldby - do you work fo eZee you constantly push them. Im in no way criticising at all im just curious as to why you think they are so good
  24. I dont think there is anything wrong with a bit of touting they are there to make some dosh at the end of the day. Im happy to see that they are being constructive and in some threads they are supportive of each other. Only only brand i have ever seen dissed is the lifecycle im not sure why tbh i have spoken to an independent dealer that says they have had no issues with them after selling a few dozen bikes. Their bikes seem well powered although they use an American hub i know nothing about and the spec on their site just says its powerful or high torque etc where and how? There is nothing about weight, type of gears brakes so i called Stuart in Southampton. He was very enthusiastic about the brand as expected. First thing he said was how much better the Lifecycle is compared to any other brand. He stated that his is te most powerful and can be de restricted for off road use to give up to 25mph plus. I was concerned about the variance in figures for the battery life especially for a 17ah this confused me as the figures i have read gave out less miles that Oxygen or Wisper. David please dont tell me that your releasing models with uprated stuff lol my decision is hard enough as it is. I just need a bike that is adequately powered, good for off and on road, has throttle loks good and has good back up. Do you have any blurb ready yet for your alterations for the range? I havnt been able to try the city yet with suspension and i think the co is a great bike for its price i just felt for a slightly cheaper price the Juicy sport was slightly better. But, you may have just threw a spanner in that thinking if your now saying the new eco has suspension lol Ahhh choices, I know my cars and if this was a car it would be easy i just dont know bikes. Yet!!!!
  25. Hi Bob great to hear from you, I explained in another post im having issues with my employer and the cost of the bike plus additional redundancies are looming so they are not happy paying out that much money. I have you quote submitted it to HR and they came straight back with questions and uncertainty. If i have to buy one out right my self then i am considering putting more money to the budget and/maybe getting finance not sure on that yet. I can get the Oxygen Race for not much more that the Juicy sport and that would be able to take me off road due to its set up. If it helps though Bob, i tested the Wisper Eco yesterday and honestly i felt the Juicy sport was a better ride. If this is the case when i can get my hands on a Oxygen Race and City then i wont need to put any more money to the pot and ill buy the Juicy Sport. I felt you had a really great product and your enthusiasim for your product was fantastic.
