  1. The bike is now on eBay. I'll put the link up in a bit. I would prefer to sell off of eBay to save charges so it'd your interested let new know.
  2. I am reluctantly selling my e mate race due to health reasons. Its 18 months old and has done 600 miles. I have looked after it as much as i can (cleaning, oiling and adjusting etc) and its in very good condition. On average i get 36 miles on a full charge of battery and that is of full assistance mode. It has served me well commuting to work but now im catching the bus. I have also used this bike as it was intended for which is off road as i live next to a country park. Nothing extreme but the bike handles very well and is on the lighter side for a e bike. The battery is still in good condition ive only lost 3 miles off a full charge You can see some videos i have done here [video=youtube;WQh9rCZQ-Ug] I am open to sensible offers, this bike is retailed at £1499 new from Oxygen. Message me if your interested I could deliver it as i have a pick up but this would add a £25 delivery charge if your within 110 miles from Stoke on Trent. And im losing money at that Jon
  3. Looking at all your wires, controller and handle bar mode switcher looks just like the set up on my Oxygen. I wonder if its a standard set up fom Bfang
  4. Its also a homophobic comment someone saying a bike is nice does not warrant a dig at being female or gay sexuality/gander has nowt to do with it
  5. This does sound somewhat trivial and a waste of money on the front of it but as others have said there could be an underlying issue here were not told about, is he a local prat and the Police are trying to get a ABC or ASBO issued? I doubt he is a typical law abiding person
  6. Do i feel vulnerable? Frankly not at all. I am aware of my self i am aware of others and i have a very good perception of intentions. This is not me suggesting i am invincible or i am the wordls best rider but if i woke up and decided that i felt vulnerable then i would sell my bike and get the bus. I am a very confident person in what ever i do as if you doubt your self you will cause issues and if you doubt others well thats a whole other thing. Through feeling vulnerable then can come nerves and thats when you will make mistakes. The only thing i cant control or think ahead on is if some numpty rear ends me and if that happens and i can still walk the numpty wouldnt be, and then if im seriously injured hello legal action. Ive never had an accident on my bike ive had several in a car but they have been on carparks where people are not paying attention and just drive into me at low speeds. I have a numer of different licenses including the advanced so i feel that i have a good understanding of vehicles its just there owners you need to watch and even then there are only so many things you can do with a car, van or HGV.
  7. If these people are threating over this well these bikes are not for them frankly. Ive heard it all now soon the roads will be full of ditherers in cars and ditherers on bikes and as a result we will all be dithered to death. Its not an imediate 15.5mph take off it takes a few 100m to get up to speed depending on weight and wind. I find the throttle very helpful of delicate moves going around stuff and if i ease the throttle i can control the speed. Alternatively like you guys said just turn the power down
  8. What the hell is that monstrosity? That is, well, just dam ugly. Audi may build nice cars and even better concept cars but if thats their attempt at a concept bike they need to give up now.
  9. Good idea Tombs an add on is a good idea only issue is i might be in Texas that weekend, i cant remember if it get back just before that date or just after it. I agree that the NEC is far too expensive to hold such an event but i dont think there is any issue with confusion. The NEC holds many different type of events and the only problems would come from tagging onto a sports bike event thats the only time an issue may arise from your point but at the same time it may open eyes. Tagging on will be the best way forward whether it be Stoneleigh or Staffs county
  10. Thanks for that David, thats interesting. For anyone interested I have managed to squeeze a figure from the NEC this is purely a ball park (obviously) and does not include anything other than room hire. For a prediction on 10,000 people attending in April/May time on a weekend your talking £77,500. With on costs in terms of waste, advertising, travel costs any form of salary or honoraria type payment you could be talking in the region of £110,000 for a decent event. That is far beyond me a consortium would be needed to facilitate and finance this.
  11. Ahh ok, i was thinking like a car clutch ie disengagement etc. Is there a hub system that has no drag at all so you can choose to engage it or disengage it?
  12. This is definitely an advantage with this bike - the ability to ride a decent speed with no power. Hubs need a clutch a feel as standard. I wouldnt dream of riding any hub bike back from my work place with no power its far too much trouble. I know some say drag is hardly noticeable but i do wonder how honest they are being. On all the electric hubs i have tried there is noticeable drag. I do wonder if crank drive type of system is the future unless someone can design a worthy hub. Do clutches in hubs add much weight?
  13. Seriously what is the point in that much stopping power? Even on downhill biking or where ever these maybe considered surely its too much stopping power and would just throw you off? My disk brakes are good on the Race and stop you very quickly and they cost nowhere near that and nowhere near as many pistons
  14. Fan bloody tastic. Thats the funniest thing ive seen this week, you just knew he was going to hit the police car, knowing in the USA though he could sue for it too, he might get his $50 back lol
  15. I kind of with flecc on this and im very much into innovation and the internet. All i see Twitter as is a way of business, politicians or celebs informing people of whats going on. Thats fine and it has a use. For the average Jon no body cares if i have been tot he shop or just had a what ever. I see Twitter more of a a place to brag and thats it, it does nothing else. I do get facebook more and i use facebook quite a bit because its a way of keeping in touch with stuff, for a start you have more than 140 characters or what ever the limit is.
  16. I thought you were going to say some numpty had done that but as its professional thats ok lol. I have to say that is very impressive im actually in awe and i bet some of the serious super bikers must be impressed even if they wont admit it. I dont suppose you have any pictures do you?
  17. Thnaks Lynda, yea maybe the NEC is something to build up to its just that case of finding a suitable venue. I have a stall at some craft shows around north staffs and south chesire my wife makes scented candles and we sell them, last week we were at the staffs county show.
  18. I went off IE at number 5,6 and 7 8 was so so but buggy and ive only just installed 9. Firefox is quite good if your developing websites and has lots of add on tools you can use to aid you like firebug. Chrome is light weight and not bad, feels clean and ive not really had bugs except for a youtube issue recently. Opera is the quickest of the lot and works well. I use Chrome for browsing and FF for developing
  19. Well if you dont know of one there cant be lol. I would hope one would be more successful but is it te right time with people stil worried about money? Well i would organise one and i most probably could as i have organised large events in my job, this would be a step on from that though and i couldnt do it alone i would need a team so i can coordinate and delegate and i would also need a large investment. I have spoken to the NEC and they wont even give estimates on pricing unless you are sure on your figures as they charge you depends on stalls, activities and attendance from the public. They then have on services such as event management, marketing, ticket handling and they also charge you if you want them to tidy up after so thats not even factored in. I could imagine it costing £10s of thousands rather than £20m and to make it worth the effort you would need corporate sponsors and an attendance of at least 10,000 people. I think to make it worth the while it would need to be in the NEC or the o2 si its not weather dependent and you have a decent amount of room to let people play.
  20. Ha ha yea your right doh!!!
  21. Im glad someone else raised this i do enough moaning lol. I find it rather annoying too, i have to enlarge my screen to read text properly because of an eye condition and it gets in the way.
  22. I know what your saying and it is the easier and quicker option but is it really worth the extra cost? A full diy it inc delivery battery and Maplins can be done for less than £450 (depending on exact parts) so you can be saving something like £300+ which you can use to put towards a good bike.
  23. And i think your right most motorbike users would chuckle and think what are we moaning about.
  24. They also use ramps sometimes with the pick-up gate down. I coult lift 100kg into a pick-up but i wouldnt want to and i would prob struggle to carry it up or down some stairs whether indoors or out doors. I also wouldnt want to put 100kg of bike into a confined space like i do with my push bike. Motor bikes and cycles have a similar purpose of getting you about but are used and stored differently. Cycles are more convenient for tighter spaces and lifting onto bike carriers etc
