  1. My advice, do not rely on Google maps if you come to sunny Cornwall, spent an anxious hour stuck at the bottom of a valley being told to turn right and right again into a farm yard. Steep hills on all sides which I could only just make up. In the end I met a farmer who gave me directions telling lots of cars get lost in his farmyard but I am his first pushbike! Anyway here I am in Looe my first real big ride, will be testing other apps now. No more Google!
  2. Yep they will do nicely thanks.
  3. Excellent little ride out today, need bigger pedals, feet keep falling off!
  4. Since boxing day I had been out of the house once to attend a hospital appointment. Today I went out on the bike three times doing a mile or so each time. Cannot explain how much that means to me.:)
  5. Exercise, get my legs strong again and fit a dropper when I get back from WSM. I will get it sorted and be doing long rides by end of summer I am very stubborn.
  6. I broke my hip 2vyears a go
  7. Yes the seat is far to low but I am struggling to get me leg over! Dont worry been riding with an old bike jacket fitted with body armour, helps me bounce! rog
  8. Cutting out fine, but lag on starting, maybe a better controller soon, ordering Shimano hydraulic brakes and a back rack.
  9. Going to Weston super Mare next week because its flat and I can use it better to build strenght up, will post how I get on.
  10. So I fell off again trying to get on bike but today after recovering I made it to train station and all the way back to my door. Might not seam much to others but this is major step for me,very happy. Baby steps but every journey begins with a single step.
  11. Will be taking my first trip on GWR next week, because I'm disabled they should help me with bike. Will photo any signs I see. Rog.

  15. So loud knock on door today, and Parcel Force delivered the Uplee that I was supposed to be getting a refund for. Gobsmacked I got the box upstairs and very happy to report it was all ok. Its black instead of silver but not bothered about that. Easy assembly and out to the car park to give it a go. Promptly fell off trying to swing my leg over, tried again standing on my right (strong ) leg and off I went, tour of Liskeard, goes great, will start a thread on my experiences with it, but for now a very happy bear!

  18. I am going to have to recalibrate my brain for this switchover, used to get 750 miles out of the Mich Radials on the R1 so the back tyre was changed about every month, £150 a pop! Just looked at the Continental's, what is a foldable tyre please? Prices very from £20 to £69 per tyre for the Contacts happy to buy the best, at the end of the day your life depends on about 3inchs of rubber on a bike!
