  1. Hi Biged, thanks for that, tried to buy one this morning, order declined, must be out of stock, will give them a call. Barrie
  2. Hi all, the answer to throttle only is 27miles here, but wont be doing that again no need, unless I have some sort of problem. Still very pleased with the bike and I am almost sure I will buy whatever evolves from the 906, I am hooked. Today just Blackpool and back 15 miles very strong wind coming home still managed 15mph without much effort. as I get fitter I will reduce the assist as David says and then the bike should do my longest efforts which will be in either France or Spain. Mick when you are in the area with your bike give me a call 07530162258 Barrie.
  3. Hi all, Today went to Blackpool and back on throttle ony about 15 miles, will see to morrow how much more it will do. A small problem developed, on the rough surface along the prom the vibration caused the battery to loose contact, I will have to look at that. Barrie.
  4. Hi all, today ran the battery flat, started in Fleetwood went along the sea front into a head wind to Blackpool and back again and round the town the battery died after 60Ks say 37miles on full assist all flat running but as I said yesterday we nearly allways have wind here. I shall never do that sort of mileage in one go so the bike should serve me well. Tomorrow I will start the 2nd part of my test to see how far the bike will go on throttle only. The only winge I have with the bike is finding the right riding position, to get my legs extending right I struggle to reach the floor, I am 5ft 7" with 29" leg. but no big deal. Barrie
  5. Hi all, after day one 15 miles full assist appeared to use a quarter of the battery. Day two 20 miles full assist the same, but have not charged and today I will do the same run to see what the battery has left as well it might be good to run the battery down to recharge from low. After I find out what the bike will do on full assist I will the do the same on throttle only. I live at Fleetwood so flat, but mostly always windy along the front. With full assist and just steady peddling 15 MPH seems easy for the bike. The mail reason I have bought a top of the range bike is I wanted to go out riding with some of my motorhome friends [ KEEN BIKERS ] when we are away so hopefully the 905 XC will do the job. Barrie
  6. Hello all, is it possible to buy some sort of seat suspension for my 905 XC, as you know it has suspension front but a very hard seat and I thought it might be possible to have some sort of help in the seat, or in the seat pole. Barrie
  7. Hello all, I bought this bike yesterday and have just done 25Ks and am I impressed, exept for one thing. THE SEAT. I will never get used to that type of seat so I would like to be pointed in the right direction for a good comfy seat that will allow me to stay on the bike longer. I will write a report on the bike when I have had it for a while, but first impression is first class,[ bear in mind its my 1st e bike ]. Barrie
  8. Hi and thanks for that, I have sent e mail hope to get an answer. Barrie
  9. Hi All, having to fabricate my own bike rack, could some one give me the distance between the points that the tyres touch the road on the wisper bikes 705/706 please. That looks like the option for the other half. Regards Barrie
  10. Hi All, Its a pity the Japs dont do electric bike, thier cars are pretty reliable. Barrie
  11. Hi David thanks for the info, look forward to seeing your review when you have had it a while. Barrie
  12. Eddie I know its expensive, but there a brand new one on e bay at £1300?????? and its regular. I like German stuff it usually does what it says on the box. Glad the van going well Eddie, decided to keep our another year, some new Hymer stuff just out. Barrie
  13. Soory Eddie must be a bit thick dont understand what you meen. Hope new van is ok. Barrie
  14. Hi Flecc and thanks for the info, still confused there seems to be 2 levels of quality from China, Wisper and I dont know which other, but still working on it, trying not to make a mistake. Barrie
  15. Afternoon all, does anyone know where the Kettler Layana hybitech is made. Regards Barrie
  16. hi james and thank you for your advice, I simply could not justify £2000 plus for the use I am going to get from the bike at the moment. On my shortlist is the Oxygen Bike and I would not know where it was made but I now assume China. And are you saying its pure quality of the components that is the difference??. As I have said before big seems to be the way to go for me, say 36 V, 16/18Amp etc and I want one that if I want will go on thottle only, there is not a lot of change from £1400 for the Oxygen Bike, but at 70 I only want to buy once!! Regards Barrie
  17. HI Bob, thats the problem I live at Fleetwood and everyone is so far away, but I have now got a short list, but I am getting there. Regards Barrie
  18. Hi Steve, only 10 amp battery and a tad heavy. Barrie
  19. Hi Flecc, I am taking all in, and on my short list is the Oxygen bikes, but unfortunately no close dealer, and also not a lot of info about them on the forum, so have email Oxygen asking the relevant questions. But up to now seems to tick most boxes. Barrie
  20. Hi NRG, did not meen to single out Alien, its just that in my short time on here I have seen 2 failures. I am learning all the time. I shall not be using my bike for comuting as I am retired. It will spend a lot of its time on the back of my Motorhome in France Spain etc. And will be used to explore rather than comute. Barrie
  21. Just a final thought but an important one. BATTERY LIFE, do some have a longer life, and if so how do you know which, for instance there seems to have been some battery failure in the "first year", on Alien and some others. I will certainly be looking for a 2year guarantee, which I think is fair. Barrie
  22. Morning all, cant thank everyone enough for all the help and please keep it coming. I feel a bit further on. I think larger is better, 16/18amp, 36 volts etc. so now I am compiling a short list. The hard bit is working out the difference in price [ what for ] between say The Juicy to name one and say the Kalkhoff or Wisper, it must be in quality, but to a novice thats hard to define. Barrie
  23. Hi Flecc, I started with a moderate figure in mind say £7/£800 but I have soon realized that to get a bike to do most of what I want will cost more. Just had a look online at the Oxygen city ...
  24. Thanks again to all, I thought I might ask another one, How many different bikes have the BOSCH system, that might be the road to go. Barrie
  25. Why the need for a new battery, if thats the life then I dont want one, surely another reason
