  1. Thats tempting fate, make sure you take your puncture kit next time you go a ride. LOL. ding-dong.
  2. May sound silly -but, do'nt you think it's time somebody invented a sort of "squishy" large "O" ring thing instead of inner tubes (and / or) tyres. No more punctures.!!!!!!?. With all the modern polymers and stuff I would'nt have thought it would be all that difficult. Who's going to be the first to patent the idea?. Ed. ding-dong.
  3. In your previous post you say that 25k is to slow, I think you're having a laugh. If I were you I would get the PINK one, I think it would suit you LOL. Ed. ding-dong.
  4. A throttle for moving off is great if your legs are'nt to good. Ed.ding-dong.
  5. Hi Jerry. I agree that lifting the bars up should'nt be a problem but all your pics have straightish bars. I was thinking the old "traditional" swept backs may be more comfortable?. I would be very greatfull for any more reports. Thank you all very much. Ed. (ding-dong).
  6. Virtually all the e-bikes I see around here on the costa blanca are owned by Dutch people who come on holiday in motorhomes & caravans. ding-dong. Ed
  7. Thanks flecc & scimitar I must say you both seem pretty confident in your replies, it's just that Iv'e read a few instructions (on here) about conditioning new batteries, some from dealers as well. I only use my bike to pop down to the village to get a few groceries and have a pint (or 3). I built the bike to give my legs a bit of exercise, to proud to get a motorized invalid chair just yet, must be that macho thing. I charge the battery after every trip or 2 which is only about 5k in total. Thanks for your replies, Ed. ding-dong,
  8. Hi Guys. I live in a hilly area so I do'nt want to run my battery flat while I am out (I live at the top of a hill which I can't even walk up, I'm an old geezer with a gammy leg). has anyone got any advise on how to drain the battery at home. I am thinking along the lines of 3 12v bulbs in series (making 36v) (that took some working out). If this seems ok, what wattage bulbs would you recommend?, how long would it take to flatten the battery?. All ideas taken on board, thanks a lot. Ed. (ding-dong).
  9. Hi Guys. I have a Dahon Espresso which has the "modern" straight bars. After over 50 years since I rode a bike I do'nt feel very safe (confident) on it. Would it be much easier to ride with "sit up and beg" bars do you think ?. Thanks for looking,Ed (ding-dong). p.s. It has a front motor.
  10. Thats fantastic flecc,it was a big problem UNTILL NOW. I live in Spain so help is very limited (Manuel, Faulty towers etc). Thanks again I can get on a bit now. Thats a couple of pints I owe you. ding-dong, Eddie
  11. PS are cutout brakes mandatory under law now ? Good point. Someone with "the knowledge" will be along to tell us I imagine. ding dong. Eddie.
  12. Hello again, I have seen some forum debates on brake lever cut offs. Would it be a good idea to have the cut off just on one lever (the one you use most). Just thinking it's one less wire to try and hide??? Byeeeeee, ding-dong, Eddie.
  13. Good morning members. The 3 thick wires from my motor are blue, brown & green. The corresponding wires from the controller are blue, yellow & green. I am tempted to plug the brown into the yellow (but I am a cautious coward). Can I do any damage do you think?. I was searching the forum last night till 3am this morning and see that you can switch these 3 wires in certain circumstances but I do'nt want to do any damage. Please help. Thanks muchly. ding-dong, Eddie.
  14. howtofixbikes.ca I was just found it this afternoon. ding-dong
  15. Hi Guys (and Gals) I am fitting a kit. I would like to fit my sensor disk on the chainwheel side,(where it would be hidden) trouble is I can't remove the bottom bracket nut (the one with 2 flats on), tried the usual punch/screwdriver method (I am pretty sure it's a l/h thread). I could fit it on the left side but it would'nt look so neat (it's 60mm dia) plus it would be a bit exposed to damage, on the other hand I suppose if it's on the right it could get seriously damaged if the chain came off ??. The bike is a Dahon Espresso. Would appreciate your comments. Thanks a lot. Eddie, Ding-dong) Just seen IanA's very usefull post with photo's so will do similar if no replies. Thanks. & thanks IanA
  16. I think it's a Dahon (Espresso)??.(anyone for coffee), mine has two 5m threaded holes just below the seat post they have a little rubber bung in each one. Do'nt know if it's relevant. (or) Maybe put little wheel on the back of the carrier...............Eddie. (ding dong).
  17. Seat post It needs a strut from the front to the frame/seat post or similar to stop it turning on it's axis. Eddie. (Ding dong). Sorry, just read your post again and see it WAS connected to the seat post (not securely?????).
  18. Hi Walkerman, Did you get the replacement under warranty???.Eddie
  19. Sorry, maybe a bit thick but I do'nt see a price. Eddie
  20. Hi Frank, VERY INTERESTING, I see the Dahon Jack is 26". What about the same conversion on the Boardwalk which is only 20" ???..I am very interested in the "no pedalling" bit as I am in my "twilight" years,--it's all downhill from now on (unfortunately it's uphill as well) especially where I live. Do you also do a DIY kit? Thanks. Eddie.
  21. Hi Andy. I have taken some details from google maps. In 1 mile the rise is 288 ft. in actual fact it is only half a mile long. I have not ridden for years but I am pretty sure I would need a lot of assistance I have been told by the doctor that it is bad circulation (or arthritis). I will obviously try to imput a bit to maybe improve my problem (may be in the tour de France next year) (on an e-bike of course??). My weight is 70 kilo. Please note I am not a cripple, I can stand at the bar for hours no problem. Thanks for your genuine interest. Eddie
  22. Hello helpers, today I have been having a scout around bike shops & I came across a Dahon Vitesse P18 (18 gears), it looks a really nice bike (800 quid ish) 20" wheels. What do you think???. What would be a good front wheel kit to go for???. All sugestions will be very helpfull. Thanks for all your help folks. Eddie.
  23. Thanks guys, If I walk up the (steep) hill to my house, I have to walk very slowly & keep stopping for a couple of minutes as my legs start to ache. I have now discovered a more gentle but longer route which may be more suitable.?. I need a folder as I go caravan touring in Europe & would use the bike to get closer to the tourist spots. I only mentioned the 26" wheel because that was the only one that the shop had, if as you say a 20" would be better then I will do a search of the area to see if I can locate one. I suppose if you build your own "kit bike" you should finish up with a product more suitable for the job (as long as you know what you are doing). I used to be a motor bike mechanic so building a kit should'nt be to difficult. Once again thank you for your very valued input. Eddie
  24. O/K Andy, I think you were just checking to see if I was alert. I have seen a 26" wheel folding push bike (250 quid) and maybe get an ezee kit to fit it but need to look into that in a bit more depth (motor size etc (for off road of course)??? Thanks again Eddie.
  25. Hi Andy, thanks for your very useful input, I have just checked the Quando 11 & see it comes with only one gear--would this be a big disadvantage?? thanks in anticipation Eddie ding-dong.
