Backache
Actually it moves slightly backward and downward when going over bumps..but there is no real perception of this movement and the seat maintains it horizontal position ... I do not think it would cause any knee problems... but I have only one ride with it so dont really know...

Backache
faith restored - purchased and fitted the Suntour NCX. As it turned the height was about the same as the rigid seatpost. Thinking there was rain on the way this afternoon headed out quite early and completed 22 miles including Box Hill twice. No problems whatsoever...Bike comfort is transformed on a softer setting. On a different subject I was having a lot of trouble with the gear indexing. Threw out the Sram and fitted a Shimano 9 speed shifter. Now gear changes are like silk....

Backache
thank you for all the suggestions....I did try the big bum seat off the Forza but probably did not ride long enough to fully test. Looked at the thud buster quite expensive....any thoughts on suspension seatposts ?

Backache
Could my bike a size too large be the cause of my back problems....twice now after riding my Boardman TXC 29r Ezee conversion I have experienced severe lower (right) back pain. It seems that an age old problem is resurfacing...so I am now quite scared to go for a ride. I don't really know what the actual size of the frame is but with the seat fully down I can barely touch the ground No problems when riding the old Forza. If I cannot sort this out then the bike is available for sale. I paid John £950 and will accept £900.

Sing while you cycle
Thanks Neil I am planning to do a few more mixes on Logic Pro including 'Streets'. Also attend open mike nights in Byfleet. No I am not a professional singer...just a hobby...cut back on my flying...but to stay current fly a Jabiru UL at Damyns Hall on an NPPL. Your are welcome to come fly one day. Still got my Forza now completely rewired and with dual battery...just could not get a Sine wave controller to work on the Ezee motor so bought a rewire kit from John. Also bought his Ezee powered Boardman Pro...what a fantastic bike...got to meet up again one day...

Came off bike in most plonkerish way
I followed your advice years ago Flecc and have a mirror on all my bikes...because the cyclist is a bit further to left then the following car driver a quick nod to the right and the cessation of pedalling by the cyclist gives a good indication that you have seen them...I use a quick thumbs up as a 'good to go pass' signal...often receive a quick pip on the horn...goodwill both ways...

Conversion Experience so far
I did little investigating into the company trading as Pedalease. The website shows the office in a storage warehouse Pedalease Ltd Unit 1001 Shurguard House Westmount Centre Hayes UB4 0HD Walton on Thames . Trading as Pedaling-made-easy on Ebay the contact is in a private house A6 Ashford Ave Hayes Middlesex UB40LY and also as Drifttronics with and address in Walton-on-Thames The pictures in the Drifttronics Ebay listing are identical to those in the Pedalease website. You cannot contact them, they do not reply to emails. I am fairly certain I purchased a second hand non sensor 700C kit from them trading as Mateen many years ago to fit on a claud Butler hybrid. The bearing was shot and the controller constantly overheated and finally blew up. Make what you will of it..... http://thumbs2.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/m8FEgfG7TqTK6y9faxByUAw.jpg

Electric Planes
Soon we will have to seriously think about burning fossil fuel to power a jet engine so we can go and sit on a beach in Malaga or some other dreadful place, believing that we have the right to do so.....same as we should think carefully about driving our diesel powered 4X4 to drop our children off at school and polluting the cities with trillions of fine carbon paritculate....

Electric Planes
The near future for electric powered flying machines will be drones transporting people within airport boundaries or maybe between skyscraper rooftops. There is a trail going on in Dubai with the Ehang... https://www.dezeen.com/2016/01/07/ehang-184-worlds-first-automated-passenger-drone-ces-2016/?li_source=LI&li_medium=bottom_block_1 Recently to commemorate Bleriots first crossing of the channel an electric powered aircraft made the same crossing. It takes huge amount of energy to lift the aircraft off the ground but once at altitude electric motors maintain their efficiency. Also see NASA X-57 https://www.dezeen.com/2016/07/11/nasa-x-57-maxwell-electric-aircraft-fuel-efficient-reduced-flight-times-noise-carbon-emissions/ This type of aircraft, I believe, will be the future of short to medium range flying transport. The jet engine for commercial aircraft is probably on the downward slope of obsolescence...
