For Sale: Thule Europower 916
http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b611/swnewton/IMG_1254_zps3ctwdqax.jpg (Honda CR-V and KTM eRaceP not included!) For Sale, on eBay, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/112029345137? my Thule Europower 916, approximately 4 years old, well used with some wear and tear, but all in excellent working order. Please see images below to show accessories, wear and tear and typical load. Including, manual, all keys(2), Thule false crossbar and Thule folding wall storage bracket. Used to transport my KTM and my wife's step through Specialized hub conversion. Support clamps can be manipulated to clamp onto a variety of frames, the false crossbar is useful if you have two step throughs. Maximum carry weight is 60 kg, Thule specify 30 kg per bike. It is suggested by some suppliers that vehicles with an external spare wheel such as my CR-V or I presume a Rav 4 will need a converter frame, which effectively removes one bike space, I have not had that problem, maybe I'm lucky, the Bosal removeable tow hitch is quite long, similar to swan neck hitch, so two bikes can be carried without any problem. Ordinary cars without an external wheel, there will definitely not be an issue. The rack has a foot operated tilting mechanism, which works well with a hatchback style, but sadly not with side hinged tailgate like the CR-V. The electrics connector is 7 pin. Buyer collects or arranges own courier. eBay Listing: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/112029345137?

Which car brands are worst for close passing?
Hertfordshire and Chilterns, the weapon of choice seems to be a Range Rover Evoque or Mini (BMW)... they ain't as small as they think they are!

Thule pin adapter/socket
Pretty sure your 9906 is the right one, converts 7 pin on the car electrics to 13 pin on the trailer. (Your trailer plug has 5 blanks + 8 pins=13). (Thule buying guide:'If the car is equipped with a 7-pin electrical outlet this adapter converts it, making it possible to fit Thule’s 13-pin products.') Thule also list a 9907, which is the reverse, 7 pins on the trailer plug to 13 pin car electrics.

Poor Customer Service - LEBC
Sorry, missed that as it was not in the OP. Sending an email doesn't sound like booking an appointment though. I think you have to cut dealers a bit of slack, they must get loads of contacts who do or don't show. If you book a day and time, best for all concerned.

Poor Customer Service - LEBC
To maybe redress the balance a little bit, my dealings with LEBC, have always been excellent. Spent ages chatting with Tom at Redbridge, really helped with positive observations and advice. They have been prompt in contacting me about the purchase of my KTM and arranged a mutually convenient time to collect the bike. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from LEBC when the time comes round again. Perhaps that's the approach we need to take, book an appointment for test rides rather than just turn up and hope, that's been my experience when buying a new car as well.

Bike Carrier
Not sure how the Ducato rear opens, if it is an upward opening hatch, it should be OK. I used the Thule on a Skoda hatchback, there was easily enough clearance with two bikes to open the hatch. If anything D8veh's Cykell looks to have more clearance. No use on the Honda CRV though, the rear door opens like a gate, have to drop stuff in through the glass hatch! Rear door does have space to open if there is nothing on the carrier and the mounting post s folded flat, but it is very tight, very slight rubbing when door is opened.

Bike Carrier
I've got a Bosal removable hitch, which I think is a bit longer than the usual fixed ball, but means I couldn't use a spacer. Certainly the external tyre has been not been an issue with my setup, but maybe anyone considering one of these types of carriers on an SUV needs to bear it in mind. The spacer solution would be better than losing a bike space. Have to say the Cykell looks a stylish bit of kit, and looks easier to store than the Thule.

Bike Carrier
Looks a great design, but only 1.6kg lighter than the Thule Europower, which surprised me, appearances are deceptive. Deal breaker for me, is that it says not suitable for cars with an external rear spare. But, then again, I was advised that I would need an attachment for the Thule which reduced it to a one bike carrier on the Honda CRV, guess what ? it fitted perfectly, no attachment, no loss of carrier space, all depends on how far towball extends behind the car. If you do have an external spare, would be a good idea to measure up carefully, or better still try one out at a dealers first.

Adding lights and mudguards
On the subject of lights, some KTMs come with wired in lights, I am presuming working off the light switch on the control panel. Is it possible to retrofit to the eRaceP, an led light operating off the console/battery, like the ones d8veh has used? I guess the word, 'warranty' is going to pop its little head up soon!

Falco e-motors kickstarter project
I think I mentioned in another post that I had a Falco Hx-250-FS 11.5BB for seven months. Good points: Quiet, very quick on the flat. Bad points: Poor climbing, faded badly on hills in Chilterns. Battery life was poor, lucky to manage 24 miles on flat towpaths, could just about get from Berkhamsted to Milton Keynes along the Grand Union, always had to take reserve battery, and that was on the lowest assist setting. The wireless console display was never operational, I had to have wired power control when kit was fitted, therefore there was no indication of speed/battery level/odometer/assist level. To be fair Team Hybrid let me have the conversion at 2/3 of the price when the kit was installed, but there never seemed to be any hope of improvement in battery performance or the wireless communication. Team Hybrid were also very professional when I let my disappointment be known, offering me a full refund immediately. The Falco unit imo would be fine for short, fast, flat journeys, once they sort the wireless connectivity, but in the time I had it it was a premium price for an incomplete product that certainly did not meet my needs. For the money there are far better options available, I wish I had paid more attention to advice on the forum before purchase. Thankfully, I was able to put the refund towards my Redbridge KTM shopping spree !

Hi....in need of KTM advice....
Yup! There's a man who knows his Downs and his chalk, steep and scary yes, but not at my sort of speed. Have to say the eRaceP climbed it fine.
