1. I bought mine through Ali express and dhgate. I've bust them both by accidentally trying to charge a single 12s pack without disconnecting it into its 2 6s sub packs. Anyone here want a go at fixing them I'll let them go for £10 each
2. I do a 22 mile commute in my bike each way so about 44miles a day. I charge it at work so the battery only has to be good for 22 miles I would say that a battery for 50 miles straight would make the bike pretty heavy and not much fun to ride. Is there no option for charging at work?
3. + 1 for rear view mirror. I wear a full face when it's cold, also helps filter the flies on the woodland tracks keeping them out of your teeth as you grin. On a more serious note, I used to snowboard quite a lot and helmets have saved me a few times. I know because I've been wearing one and still hit my head hard enough to have headaches for days. Anyway due to the fact I go similar speeds on my ebike (a dh Scott ransom) I think a helmet is the smart thing to do. Oh but there is the fact that dogs don't like full face helmets as much. It freaks them out more than the normal style. I pass a lot of dogs on the transpenine trail.
4. Managed to get to the corner near the Sheffield Wednesday ground. Amazing to see close up. Just amazing
5. Ha funny "proper" cyclists, mine at attached using two hefty zip ties on Both sides, always carry spares incase they fail but the haven't yet
6. Ha great minds just after I posted I saw the link above and am currently browsing the pics. Will have a workshop soon so maybe my tinkering a will get more adventurous.
7. I've recently begun again cycle to work. 22miles each way heald green to Runcorn. I will tell you this, after 2 weeks and 5 there and backs (200miles) my behind is feeling it. So much so my attention turned again to recumbents. If you think you'd be okay doing 400miles in one hit I'd put money on you not finishing. Padded cycling shorts help and i ride a heavy full sus downhill converted bike. But still my saddle ain't soft and if recumbents were cheaper I'd already own one.
8. I bought a couple of bike carriers for a roof rack for my girlfriends car (my car is not the work horse) but then I modded the front part to have a clamp system to hold the maxles. They are both converted downhill frames, ones a Scott ransom the other a norco team race both with rear hub motors. Anyway I always take the battery off and the hub motors are only adding 5kg each. The setup was bomb proof when we took them around the Lake District. You should be able to do similar on top of a micra. And bikes aren't that heavy without the batteries.
9. Cwah, I think you are misunderstanding. The plate from devimotion/bms battery/golden motor are nearly identical. They fit the extruded alu battery box from your opening post which has a locking mechanism in the battery end doubling as a power key switch. If you don't own the battery in the original post then the grin one is probably the way forward. The key belongs to the battery not the plate.
10. Cwah you can buy the plate for 19€ from devimotion in the Netherlands they are a very helpful company.
11. Yes hatti lots of fun had by myself, my girlfriend Pips and our mutual friend Tom and Sarah (bro and sister) Tom helped in the yolanda typhoon and got in a British paper. Anyway favourite beach was Los cabanos at el nido where we had the best fish curry mmmmmmm
12. Ha, currently on my last days holiday in the Philippines totally a market in the making for ebikes but suffer the same issues here as the opening poster suggests of Mexico. Wouldn't half cut the pollution from the 155cc motorbike trikes if they went electric one added complication is the reliability of their electricity grid. On some of the islands brownouts are standard.
13. Just wanted to put an advert out to see if there was any interest. I have many HP power supplies which do 12v at 32amps. They will be fitted with sockets which will output to allow 4mm bullets. Basically for the UK/ European market. I can post worldwide but I believe others such as FeathermerchantRC sells/ships cheaply to America and Canada. Just attach one or two 6s lipo chargers (or really any of your choosing) and have a reliable Lipo charging setup. I was planning on selling each for £20. put one each side of your commute and only carry the light lipo charger. I have had mine power my hyperion 14s flawlessly for months now. to the rest of europe prices via courier are: 2 cost £26 which is the same price as royal mail but slower, 3 cost £27 pounds which works out at £9 each + £20 so £29 instead of £33 4 cost £27 pounds which works out at £6.75 + £20 so £26.75 each 5 cost £27 pounds which works out at £5.40 + £20 so £25.40 each 6 cost £28 pounds which works out at £4.67 + £20 so £24.67 each I have had a few happy customers already but am sitting on a stock pile Please PM me if you are interested. A direct payment to my paypal at whereswallyohhesatthebar@hotmail.com for the amount required typically £25.30 for one charger to the UK will hasten delivery to you new link to my own web shop, should work just click on the link UK Modded server supplies 12 volts 32 Amps for Lithium Polymer RC chargers Thanks for your interest in this thread.
