1. Was it easy to take to bits? I just bought a used kalkhoff agattu with the impulse 2.0, so no warranty.. No problems yet but if they arise I guess I'll be fixing it myself!!
2. Did you manage to change wheel circumference on your impulse 2.0 ??
3. And haw does impulse 2 vs yamaha vs bosch line up? What capacity battery does it have?
4. OK great, where in NW are you?
5. Hi Jezz, I'm interested... Which model is it? Could you send photos? Dont want to put my email on here but you can find it if you google fitstove Thanks, Steve
6. I'm interested and based near Birkenhead, any chance of a viewing?
7. I'm very tempted by this Kettler Traveller E-Light, weighing under 20kg and for 1700euro inc shipping it looks pretty good! Could fit chunkier tyres and do the solder trick to eliminate the 25kph limit
8. Nice vids!! I suppose 15mph is enough for that... especially on the Wirral... popular with walkers and dogs!! I'm almost back to square one!! Deliberating between building a bike for about £750 or buying a bosch bike for double that (or even waiting till the next gen bosch bikes are available in Jan....) Stumped!
9. Thanks for everyone's input... I went to a bike shop today and explained my plan, they said forget it, I'd just break everything!! As for your replies, ideally I'd want a bike that could do most things (I'm not into jumping) i.e it would be good and fairly stealth on the road, it could handle tracks and bridalways, it would be fast and it would have a half decent range (30-40miles assisted) and be fun, how much fun is like asking how long is a piece of string... And be reliable.. What I don't want is a stodgy boring heavy ugly slow piece of junk with bad brakes and a 10 mile range.... I realise that people have multiple bikes because one bike can't do everything, but I was hoping the electrical assist would overcome issues like suspension and knobbly tyres which are no good for road use because they tire you out too much, and I don't want to bundle a bike into the car to take it somewhere to ride... seems daft to me!
10. OK.... thanks for the early input. Don't like the sound of frequent maintenance, or mucking about with wiring... need plug and play!! I didn't buy that bike.. it just ended on ebay for £185... didn't have bottle holder holes in frame.. more homework needed Maybe I'll wait for the 48v750w bbs-01 reviews to appear b4 making a decision. I've never had an ebike, but tried a Kalkhoff Impulse bike, big and heavy and not really 'fun', and a couple of low powered hub bikes, but again, not 'fun'... I get more kicks from my Merida T3 hybrid, light and fast and OK on a trail but I don't really want to mess about with electrifying it as it's cost me £800 to get it like it is. Maybe a 29er would be the way to go... Defo set on a crank drive.
11. Fair enough... I've started my own thread on my build plan and would appreciate any input b4 I blow £750
12. I've just spent 20 mins composing a great thread and it just disappeared.... NOT HAPPY I'll keep it short this time... Plan: 1. Get 4x/jump bike with strong frame and good brakes 2nd hand 2. Get 48x750w bbs-01 from China 3. Merge the two 4. Go 30mph off road until dead Good idea?? It'll cost about £750 in total... are there better alternatives??
13. I think I'd like to explore the more brutish options... but maybe not in this thread!! Don't want to annoy anyone!! I'd like a cool lcd display too showing everything I can think of!!
14. OK, I'll re-word my post... Is the 36v250w version enough??! I'm wondering if anyone has experience of the differing power options??
15. Sorry, I thought this section was about the 8fun crank drive kit!!
16. Either that or look ahead and stop pedalling before you need to stop!! So should I go for 36v250w, 48v250w, 36v350w, 48v350w, or 48v750w... Has anyone tried any different models?? I think the 36v250w can only handle 15A, is this enough?? Ideally I want to build a brutish off-road beast!!! :-))
17. specifically the am209-a
18. Thanks for the replys... When you say 'it works OK' do you mean OK as in great, or OK as in not too bad?!! Any experience of the gladway bikes with the centre drive built into the frame??
19. Does anyone know if this kit can be fitted as a pedal assist only without the throttle and cut out brake levers (im thinking hydraulic brakes) Any info appreciated asap as I'm about to order one.... Has anyone got hands on experience with it yet.... Silly question, but how would it compare to a Bosch unit (apart from being a fraction of the cost!!) Thanks in advance )
20. What size is it? Drop bars or flat?? How much are the batteries?? Thanks, Steve
21. Still for sale??
22. I'm looking at them too... not much info out there. Crank drive and lithium for £400... too good to be true?? Did you find anything?
23. Hi, my first post on here!! I've researched pedelecs till I'm blue in the face and think bosch crank drive is what I'm after! I'm wondering if anyone has one near Wirral that I could have a little go on.. We have a great coastal path and Wirral way here if anyone wants a good run!! Thanks
