Electric Bike Conversions Company
Hi, Just wanted to make it clear that Electric Bike Conversions Ltd (www.electricbikeconversions.co.uk) are a different company to us, Electric Bike Conversions (www.electric-bike-conversions.co.uk). We are in no way linked to them and we are well and truly still up and running here in Stoke-on-Trent. We set up our business prior to them and it's caused some confusion over the last few years. Unfortunately, we do tend to be on the receiving end of calls from their disgruntled customers and it doesn't go down too well when you tell them they didn't buy their bike or kit from us. I hope this clarifies the situation for any existing and potential customers. Regards, Andy, Well Necessities Ltd (t/a Electric Bike Conversions, www.electric-bike-conversions.co.uk)

Herts - A new company I had not heard of
Sorry for the late reply. No - it's nothing to do with us. Our only outlet is in Stoke on Trent.

Herts - A new company I had not heard of
This is Andy from Electric Bike Conversions in Stoke - thought I'd better make sure that we offer some clarification - Whatever is going on with 200 bikes in Herts is definitley nothing to do with us. - We are tucked away on an industrial estate. Calling before visiting is always a good idea because time is split between our showroom/workshop and warehouse (30 miles away) Hope that this helps to clarify things:)

Recommend 700c Suspension Fork for Front Motor
The Suntour forks are ideal - we've never had any issues installing the motor on bikes with Suntour forks.

Oldman here
In addition to the comment above about the gears and disc brake - the only other difference is that the Revolver has the simpler LED display and the Stealth has the LCD display. The LCD display is more complicated in the sense that it allows you to control the PAS level (as does the LED display) but it also shows distance and speed in a simple console. If you have any specific questions about either bike then please feel free to get in touch via the details below. (...and thanks also to Los Monty for the recommend)

1st E-Bike advice
Hi Nick That looks like a good choice - I'll be really interested to read your review if you get round to posting one. We've just taken RooDog on as a supplier and will be doing our own reviews/test rides as and when we get them in the showroom - it will be good to compare your view with ours. Andy

You're more than welcome if you want to try any of our front and rear 250w hub bikes. You can reach us on 01782 534727.

Tandem
We recently fitted a front hub Cyclotricity kit to a tandem (different model than yours but the principles are the same). The fact that it was front drive didn’t cause any real issues and the customer hasn’t reported any problems associated with this. The main thing that I wanted to point out is that most kits, the Cyclotricity one included, are designed for standard bikes and the cable lengths are measured to suit. Hence it takes a fair bit of planning to make sure that you can run all the cables from the battery, handlebars, motor, PAS sensor etc to the controller. You have to find a position for the controller such that all of the cables will reach. We just about managed to find a suitable position on the underside of the frame and the only non-standard thing that we had to do was to make a new extended battery cable. Otherwise you’re in to making new cables for the components which is more of a fiddle. I would have posted a few photos but stupidly forgot to take any before handing the bike back to the customer…..

Interesting Offer
Just found this thread as a result of all of you who have come to investigate our website. We are “Electric Bike Conversions” and it’s been really interesting reading the comments because genuine, unbiased feedback is worth more than you can imagine. Our website is quite new although we have been carrying out conversions for some time – the site is a work in progress and as soon as we’re happy with the quality of the rear and mid drive kits we’ll add them. We have to be sure that anything that we sell is of the right quality because a) we have a conscience and don’t want to be associated with poor quality products and b) we give a warranty and can’t afford to have loads of returns. It was also interesting re the price that we charge for fitting – in all honesty we win some and lose some. As most of you will be aware, some are bikes take a kit without any problems and on these occasions we do OK. With other bikes we get loads of problems and it takes far longer than we’ve allowed and therefore costs us more – we’re converting a Boardman bike at the moment and it’s been a nightmare!! Anyway – thanks again for posting the thread and for taking the time to visit our website. Now that we’re registered on the forum we’ll hopefully find time to participate – not sure about the tree of wheels but we do need to find some use for them….
