Bosch ebike motor reliability
Completely clean and dry inside..it's my wifes bike so hasn't seen too much mud, my MTB on the other hand sounded like a chainsaw it was so noisy, might have something to do with 12" deep puddles and Dorset clay :-) I got that motor replaced under warrant but would of liked to have seen inside just for interest. Next time I have to do a drive bearing I will strip the whole motor out just to see what's what

Broken Bosch rack mount battery...how to depose of it?
I live in Shaftesbury, Dorset. It would be a pleasure to hand it to a fellow E-bike rider free of charge, collection only

Broken Bosch rack mount battery...how to depose of it?
I have had a Bosch rack mounted battery replaced under warranty, Bosch have been very clear in their Emails to the bike shop that they do not want the battery back as it poses a danger when transported. To save the bike shop any hassle I have taken the broken battery off of them, how can I safely depose of it? Many thanks Dave

I've a got a battery but which motor is best?
I bought this battery last year https://bmsbattery.com/ebike-battery/232-36v15ah-li-ion-alloy-05-case-ebike-battery-pack-ecitypower-battery.html which is now surplus to requirement, and I also have a bike which is crying out to have a Bafang BBS01/2 motor fitted to it... which motor would best fit the battery please? Many thanks Dave

Noisey Bosch motor?
I have a Trek Powerfly+ FS9 with a Bosch performance Line motor, it is six months old and from new it has always had a whirring noise when operating together with a slight buzz through the pedals. Since this is my first Bosch motor I excepted it as the norm....only now I have just taken delivery of a Cube Touring Pro Easy Entry fitted with excactly the same motor for my lovely wife and it is amazingly smooth and quiet compared to my Trek!!! When riding the Trek without assistance there is a lot of drag and whirring from the motor yet doing the same on the Cube gives very little of either at all. This makes me a little concerned that my motor may have something not quite right with it...any suggestions? Many thanks Dave P.S. Nicking my wifes motor is not an option...:-)

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?
Hello there, I've just started reading some of the Off Road posts and thought I'd say hello :-) I have been riding Mtb for over 25 years now and after buying my wife a step thro Pedelec became interested in E-Mtb's...... a lot of research and a trip to Wales, Coed Y Brenin trail center, to hire a Trek Powerfly+9 for a day I finally bought myself the Trek as a 50th birthday present. It is fantastic, it has made riding soooo much more fun. Since buying the Trek a month ago I have covered over 220 miles off road including a couple of 40 milers around the Purbecks, Forest of Dean trail center and Bike park Wales Trail center. The only thing I've done to the bike is swap the tyres out for more aggressive tubeless ones Happy days

Two batteries?
Hello, all done and working D8veh I did exactly as you said only I used Kettle connectors because that is what is on the new battery. New battery on top with controller cable plugged in, extended cable with female connector from the old battery on the right at the bottom Huge thank you for your help Dave

Two batteries?
Hello there, long time lurker only second time poster here. I have treated my wife to another battery for her rather lovely 8fun pedelec bike and need some advice as to what is a safe way to use both on a ride please. The original is a 36v 9Ah and the new one is 36v 15Ah; I have spent rather a lot of time searching this forum and have come to the conclusion that parallel connecting them is not for the thing to do rather using one until it flat then swapping over to the other....cheap, safe and easy..all things I like. Now here's the bit I really need the advice on: would it be safe to use a DPDT on-off-on toggle switch to switch between the two batteries? I have been looking at using one of these: http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/10a-toggle-switch-dpdt-f-jk30h Many thanks Dave P.S. Silly/how long is a piece of string question: we get 25 to 30 miles from the 9Ah battery so (you know what is coming next) how much farther do you think the 15Ah would go on the same power setting/terrain Massive post..really sorry, thank you for reading

Buying a second battery????

Buying a second battery????
All that I know is that I know nothing, I am after some basic advice please. I wish to buy another battery to compliment the one that came with my wifes 8fun ebike, I have been quoted £270 for one the same as supplied with the bike but, through this forum, I have been looking at the BMS battery site and found similar spec for a third of the price...Can you give me some advice please: This is my controller and these are the two batteries I can afford http://www.bmsbattery.com/36v/522-bottle-ebike-battery.html http://www.bmsbattery.com/36v/162-36v-10ah-lithium-ion-alloy-shell-ebike-battery-pack.html Which one is most suitable? Thank you for looking Dave

Dave from Dorset
Thank you for your replies. We haven't been brave enough to do a ride where we run the battery completely flat yet, but today was 22 miles with the battery indicator showing 20% left so things are looking a lot better than my guesstimate of 15 to 20 miles. I might even leave off rushing out for another battery for a while and see how things progress Many thanks again Dave

Dave from Dorset
Hello there, I'm Dave from deepest darkest north Dorset. I've been an enthusiastic mountian biker for over twenty years now and only recently started riding road as well. My wife has always had an MTB and when we lived in Poole would join me for short rides to the seaside, along the trailways and sometimes to the Purbecks, so long as the going was flat, dry and there was tea and cake to be had. Since moving to Shaftesbury, one of the hilliest parts of Dorset, her cycling has stopped...some of the hills around here are 10 to 15% and not fun for an occasional rider; until I bought her an Ebike!!!! An 8FUN step through bike and she/we could not be more pleased http://www.8funbike.com/images/products/E-8F28C03W_big.jpg We have been out a couple of times together now and it has been brilliant, my wife zooming up the hills grinning her face off, me on my road bike trying to keep up and failing most of the time, but most of all cycling together. Good times One little question if I may: the range is completely as I expected, 15 maybe 20 miles taking in a couple of largish hills, at some point we would like to go further so this means another battery...8FUN can supply me one of the same,Portapower 36v 9Ah, for a little under £300, but I have seen that BMS Battery do other types of battery with slightly higher Ah a lot cheaper. The Portapower unit on the back of the bike has the controller built in, how can i connect one of these 'cheaper' batteries to the bike? Sorry if I waffled a bit and many thanks in advance Dave and Aby
