  1. In an almost new condition with very little mileage done on it. Frame size 48". Reason for sale is that I've bought an electric mountain bike. Based in West Wales but could meet along M4 corridor in Wales. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I'm thinking of changing my Raleigh Velo Cite for a bike more suited to gravelly terrain. I won't be off roading but want something that will give a more comfortable ride on canal paths etc as my Raleigh is only comfortable on main roads. I'm looking to spend around £1.5k. Thanks
  3. I love the bike I currently have but am looking for a less bumpy ride as most roads I go on aren't smooth like roads in towns.
  4. Hi, I have a Raleigh Velo Cite bike which is great for smooth road surfaces but not a great ride on country lanes and cycle paths. I've seen a 2nd hand Kudos King Alivio 24 advertised and was wondering if anyone could advise of their quality? Thanks
  5. You anticipated what I was going to ask!
  6. Took it up the local cycle shop. They agreed it was the headset, so they adjusted it. I rode it home - it felt the same!! Maybe it's just the suspension I'm feeling?
  7. Hi Dafydd. You're not having much luck! I'm just outside Aberaeron.
  8. Ah right. I have a threadless stem. I've attached a photohttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/17/y3aseben.jpg
  9. What do I need to do?
  10. Yes, there was. I have a threaded headset adjustment system but typically I couldn't loosen the stem clamp bolt (Alan key) as it's really tight. Cycle shop here I come...
  11. Thanks for this. I'll have a look, but think it will probably end up with a trip to the local cycle shop. I'm not very practical at all!
  12. What an horrific day you've had, but thankfully are ok. I'm from West Wales and bought an electric bike a couple of weeks ago. These stories do make you worry about going out and enjoying the countryside. Which part of Wales are you from?
  13. Are the steering head bearings easy to adjust?
  14. It's a Raleigh Velo Cite
  15. Hi, I bought my bike (2nd hand but new condition) a couple of weeks ago. I've noticed that when I apply the front break the whole front of the bike shudders. That's not right is it? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks
  16. Hi, a real beginners question but... I have Raleigh Velo Cite fitted with a Lithium Ion battery. Should I keep the battery topped up or let it run right down before recharging it? Thanks
  17. Thanks everyone. Took the plunge and bought the bike. It's virtually unused. Been for a short ride tonight and couldn't stop smiling - never realised cycling could be so much fun!
  18. I'm going to buy a Raleigh Velo Cite 2014 model privately from someone today. It is apparently unridden since the seller bought it as an impulse buy last August. What things should I look out for or check before handing over the cash? Thanks
  19. I'm thinking of buying a Raleigh Velo Cite. I have 2 options: a brand new 2014 model for £1,350 or a very good condition 2012 model for around £800. The main difference between the 2 seems to be the weight and range of the battery. Any advise on which I should go for would be appreciated. Thanks
  20. I'm new to ebiking but am looking to buy a bike ASAP. Considerations are: 1. I'm 6'4" and 17 stone 2. I will be riding on roads and just need some assistance going up hills 3. I don't want to spend too much (over say £500) in case I don't use it much 4. I want something that looks decent (currently use a Claud Butler hybrid road bike) 5. I don't know whether to buy new or 2nd hand Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks
  21. Nice one. I think I saw the bike on ebay. Glad you got a good deal. I continue to search.....
  22. Hi Dave. I live in Wales and am looking for a starter bike. Did you buy this on gumtree or ebay? Makes me even more nervous about buying a 2nd hand bike. Anyone recommend a cheap new starter bike for an overweight 6'4" 17st male?
  23. I like the idea of an electric bike but want to start with something cheap as a taster. I've seen a Meerkat Thrilz on ebay for around £100 and wondering if this would be a good starter bike? I'm 6'4" and 17 stone. Any advice welcomed. Thanks
