  1. I emailed them earlier, they are aware, and agree that these are the stolen bikes.
  2. It's a 2008 model if that makes any difference.
  3. Thanks for the tips guys. D8veh the frame problem you mentioned.. is this just a problem if using it for strenuous offroad use? Also, off topic I know but any news on my friends a2b battery? (I haven't spoken to him recently).
  4. The battery I wanted to try and fit in a backpack, for me stealth is very important. I should have put a wink next to offroad use only
  5. http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/mountain-bikes/carrera-banshee-x-full-suspension-mountain-bike-large-19 I've been offered one of these for a good price, I want to build a fast conversion with throttle control (offroad use only of course). Would this bike be good for it? And if so, would it be best with fwd or rwd?

  7. Ahh didn't realise it was an actual stealth I thought it was some kind of Chinese copy.
  8. I hadn't even thought to look at feedback I don't get the point though, sellers on there don't get paid until the buyer confirms receipt of the goods.
  9. Seems very cheap considering the kit alone would probably cost more? http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Electric-Bike-Stealth-Bomber-Mountain-Bicycle-NEW-80km-Per-Hour/1892751258.html
  10. Reading the description it makes it sound like they designed it and had it manufactured for them, but looking at the link to alibaba it seems they're just buying them in from the makers. Tidy profit at £4k on purchase price of probably around $2000.
  11. That sounds great, I'm sure he'll be happy to drop it off at Telford and come back if/when you can fix it. He's chomping at the bit to get out on it with this weather we're having right now. I'll pm you for the details. Paul thanks again for all your help with this, sorry if I've wasted your time.
  12. Are there any West Mids based members on here who are capable of sorting this? It's just that it's a long way to travel if there's not much chance of it being sorted on the day. Either that or would it maybe be better for him to post the battery to you Paul? Obviously he would pay whoever sorts it for him for their time. P.S. Thank you to everyone so far for your input, it's much appreciated.
  13. I know it's difficult to say without seeing it but do you think it could be one or two cells down, and if so is this something you could fix while he waits? It's a very kind offer but it would be quite a journey to have it tested but not repaired.
  14. Paul, I have spoken to my friend and he says if you're not due down this way he'll happily drive up to you if you think you can fix it? I also forgot to mention, he bought the bike from a local Best Buy which was closing down, someone had stolen the battery off it and they replaced it with the battery from a different model, it looks the same but is a 9.5ah version.
  15. Paul, thanks for the pictures, I couldn't find anything anywhere after spending a long time searching, it definately looks beyond my capabilities so it looks like going with plan b unless one of you fine gents on here can fix it. My friend is based near me in the West Midlands.
  16. It's a friends bike, he's tried to open the box but can't, I haven't looked it at myself yet just spoke on the phone about it.
  17. Thanks for the reply, what I was thinking with changing the cells in his pack was just buying something like the one you linked and just swapping over the pack inside, that way keeping the original set up, but I guess it's not that straight forward. I've been looking on dhgate and found this one, is this much different to the one you linked as its much cheaper? http://www.dhgate.com/product/36v-10ah-rear-rack-model-battery-for-e-bike/188813524.html#s1-2-1|3329282753
  18. Don't suppose you're thinking of selling this bike on any time soon are you? It sounds like just the kind of thing I'm looking for, and you're local too.
  19. First of all apologies if this info is already on the site somewhere, I did spend a long time searching bit didn't find anything. A friend of mine has a metro a2b with a (almost) dead battery, his bike didn't come with the frame battery just the rear one, he's not exactly well off and can't afford the £500 for a replacement battery pack. Is there a way to open the battery box and replace the pack of cells inside? Or would he be better to buy a bigger battery (more power) and strap it on the back? If he did go the route of buying a different battery how would we connect it to the bike? Please note I am a total noob with electrics so would need any guidance explained in idiot proof style.
  20. Hi folks, have been into electric powered things for quite a while now, thought it was abut time I joined a bike forum as I'm looking for another e bike, and also looking for some info on changing the battery on a friends metro a2b. I've owned several electric skateboards over the years, the fastest one being a lithium powered brushless motor one which went 20mph, and I've owned a converted mountain bike which did 30mph on the flat, I think that one was 500w. As you can probably tell I'm into speed over everything else, just toying with the idea of converting my own bike or buying one already done, it's such a minefield though with all the different motor powers and battery choices, the eBay kits have you believe more watts = more power but I'm not sure this is the case? Anyway I'll stop waffling now..
