Front hub kit suggestions for Brompton clone with 20 inch wheel
Thanks both. That fat tyre Brompton looks pretty cool! Probably quite heavy but it's certainly different. Thanks for the info Stuart. I'll see if I can get test rides on both to compare.

Front hub kit suggestions for Brompton clone with 20 inch wheel
I might look at a used Brompton. I have seen them on the trains a few times and marvel at how small they fold up. The thing that puts me off a bit is the supposedly sketchy ride, although I admit I've never tried riding one. I live in the sticks and it's full of potholed lanes so I stick to my full size bikes at home but fancy something I could store easily in the house. That Carrera bike looks pretty cool too although it's not really what I was after, I bet it's a comfy ride.

Front hub kit suggestions for Brompton clone with 20 inch wheel
Hi all, Thank you for your very helpful replies. Sorry to waste people's time, but I've decided to cancel the order on that bike for a couple of reasons - one being it didn't seem a very good donor for a conversion. I still would like a trifold bike to put in the car as I have 3 other full size bikes (BBSHD, BBS02 and TSDZ8 mid drives). I'm 15.5 st 5ft 11 but trying to lose a bit of weight. I might save up for a Brompton g line and look at converting that but they are a lot of money. I want something I could fold up easy to chuck in the boot of my Yaris. I've already got a towbar and bike rack but it can be a faff to set up with the big bikes. Paul

Yes, something like that would be ideal with a 20 inch front hub.

Front hub kit suggestions for Brompton clone with 20 inch wheel
Yes either a clip on battery or a smallish Brompton clip on bag to house a small battery and controller with a detachable wire so it's easily removed. I'd prefer something lower down rather than the swytch-style handlebar mounted batteries. Something light but with a bit of grunt. I'm not expecting too much as I have BBSHD and BBS02 bikes but just something to help up hills.

Front hub kit suggestions for Brompton clone with 20 inch wheel
Yes 406, long write up on them here: I could do with something similar to the Brompton kit where it clips on with a 20 inch wheel.

Front hub kit suggestions for Brompton clone with 20 inch wheel
Thanks all for the recommendations. The clone I've ordered has 20 inch wheels, I think Brompton's (apart from G-line) are 16 inch wheels. So I'm looking for something similar to the set up for the Woosh bike but 20 inch wheel instead. Also been looking at aliexpress, pswpower, etc but not sure if they would fit.

Front hub kit suggestions for Brompton clone with 20 inch wheel
Hi all, I'm looking for a front hub kit for a 20 inch Brompton clone (Mint T9-20D). I don't have the bike yet as it's still shipping but wanted to get some ideas about possible kits. 20 inch wheels with mechanical disc brakes. Front hub kit ideally 250w road legal but don't mind a bit more, 36v. Looking for a fairly light battery I can clip on a bag at the front. Ideal would be something that still allows the bike to be folded up pretty quickly and easily detach the battery when required. Smallish display and throttle if possible. Something with a bit of grunt for hills but not expecting too much. Would prefer something already built into a wheel but will also consider motors without a wheel. Does anyone have any good suggestions? Here is the link: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Fashion-MINT-Folding-Bicycle-20inch-9speed_1601181061992.html many thanks, Paul

Issue resolved. The STlink dongle needed a firmware update. Once updated it now connects ok and I've flashed the motor.

Tongsheng TSDZ2 open source firmware issues
I've tried both Linux and Windows 10 on 2 different PCs desktop and laptop. Java is working all ok. Assume it's a hardware issue or incompatibility with the motor.

Tongsheng TSDZ2 open source firmware issues
Tbh I'm a bit reluctant to spend any more money on clones as 2 different ones from different sellers haven't worked. I could buy a genuine one e.g. from CPC farnell but there is no guarantee this will work either. https://cpc.farnell.com/stmicroelectronics/st-link-v2/programmer-icd-for-stm8-stm32/dp/SC12550?ost=stlink

Tongsheng TSDZ2 open source firmware issues
Update, tried with a much shortened cable (see attached pics) at 3.3 and 5v. No change. Any other suggestions before I give up? I've tried 2 STlink clones from different vendors and no joy.
