17mph only 500w wheel
Actually im peddling more than i expected, and i do try to balance it, for instance, down hills i can peddle faster or slow speeds i dont use it.. then we have busy junctions its a welcome bonus, but thats more down to using cheap peddles on the bike and no toeclips like i used to use. Its so much easier to throttle away, regain composure and sort your feet out. Thats down to not being on a bike for years..

17mph only 500w wheel
Coming home from work this morning i noticed the handlebar lights dipped to half way (orange) when full power was applied, on hilly sections. I am using the thumb throttle all the time, even to pull away.. Mainly because iwant to see where the limits are. Although occasionally i do peddle either to bring it upto speed or that helping foot as a boost up a hill. When i was younger i would have thrashed past the speeds of this bike with ease, just on peddle power. Without breaking into a sweat. Sadly im old and cant do that any more, so this is the future.. for me.

17mph only 500w wheel
Thanks for the reply. But honestly i have no idea of all this electrickery.. i just wait until i see a green light then i assume its charged. The battery is a 36v 15ah and supposed to have cicuits built in for overloading etc.. But it does say in the manual that it takes a few charges to reach peak power. Im trying to see what distance i will get out of it before re-charge. But as work is only 3 miles way i wont get into the teens until i get home tomorrow. 19 would be ideal as i would have enough for 3 days before recharging.

17mph only 500w wheel
Well it was the first time i charged it, too the green light.. I didnt have time to test it until yesterday, after a recharge. So maybe it had a bearing, im unsure. It does work fine now. I even got to 24mph this morning.

17mph only 500w wheel
Just to update this. Im now getting the quoted 22mph as mentioned in the advert for the kit. I have done nothing but re-charged the battery. So no idea what changed. It will go up most inclines and hills but i sometimes have to help it along. Even then its no sweat from me. Out of interest i used three different ways of calulating speed.. My new Cateye v7, 206 wheel My android phone running Ulysee speedo app And The Cateye Cycling app. Results varied, but not much. V7 22.9 Ulysee 22.2 Cat app 22.1 But i am happy the bike has passed that 17mph limit, even though i dont know why.

17mph only 500w wheel
Hi, i will try and get a cycle computer as soon as possible. The kit i got was from ebay.. item.. 223553124225 I contacted the seller and he just told me to unplug the blue wires, which i already tried.. he also told me to send a picture of the wheel number, which i will do. The controller gives 250v to 700v on the sticker. And from what i can see its the same as this one.. ebay item.. 223617485428 And as mentioned im using a 36v 15ah battery.. ebay item.. 113752678079 Otherwise i have no idea, thanks for the comments.

17mph only 500w wheel
Hi, i bought a voilimart front wheel 500w conversion via ebay. It seems to work fine. With a 36v 15ah battery. But i have had the two blue wires arrached thinking thats the restriction, it went about 17mph. But when i unplug this wire.. no difference in speed, the same 17mph. Any ideas, Or is that it speed wise?

2nd time here
Hi.. well after doing the dabbling in this forum a while ago and forgetting about it, i decided to turn my old Gary Fisher Mamba in to an Ebike. I bought a voilamart 500 front wheel conversion. It took me most of the day on and off as i also changed the front v brakes, cables, gear shifters. At the minute it seems legal, doing 16mph. But im going to try pulling wires for full power. Its all worked via the thumb throttle The pedal sensors are attached but for some reason are not doing anything when i peddle.im guessing the magnet is not close enough. I will look into this. Im using a 36v 15ah battery I also added two torque arms for safety.

e bike newbie Cyclamatic or Woosh?
Hi, thanks all for your input, sorry couldnt answer sooner as my phone as mentioned above does not like this site so had to wait until I could use my laptop. Sorry jcubbin, I live in the North East so nowhere near Liverpool. A good price though and would have been worth a shot and give me a cheaper look into this market. It looks that I will get a bike maybe Friday but still undecided which one.. Some questions answered but I would like my other specific questions answered if possible. I do like the idea of a bigger battery not so much for overall speed but maybe for better torque uphill if thats what the battery will do, whats involved, just a battery change or electrickery magic? Someone here must have bought one of these bikes, surely? Again, any help by Friday if possible.

e bike newbie Cyclamatic or Woosh?
Hi Im new to this electric bike thing and was hoping someone could give help or an opinion on my questions. Im sure some answers could be found via the search function but sadly my phone is very slow and keeps crashing on this site, Im unsure if its the graphics or formatting but it does not like it. I used to be a keen cyclist years ago, 70 to 100 miles a day were common. but havent been on a bike in near 20 years until recently. Im now in my late 50s and overweight and I usually travel via motorcycle but my new job is only 3 miles away so tried some cycling after refurbing my old trusty Giant. I find it only takes 18 minutes which aint bad considering how unfit I am. Its a mix of gradiant roads, cycle paths and a small amount of muddy track. Nothing to bad even for me. Taking into consideration the time it takes to get my motorcycle ready, 10-15 minutes, the ride to work 7 minutes and the change of gear at work 10-15 minutes, the MTB is actually quicker in time, and somewhat easier stepping out of jogging pants than leather gear. Sadly I find my legs and stamina have gone the way of the DoDo and getting to work sweating aint really the thing, hence my interest. I have a limited budget and guess its down to two bikes, the first on ebay is the Cyclamatic Power Plus and the second slightly more expensive is the Woosh Sirocco. Im guessing they are both adequate for my needs being only a three mile journey but which is the best and how do they compare? I am leaning towards the Woosh at the minute. Are the batteries quick release and what precautions are best when parking up? Im thinking of exposed electrical parts, theft of parts. 6 or 7 gears dont seem a lot, are they expandable by fitting different cassettes etc? Just how do you change gear? seems weird to me as you instinctivly know when to change while riding a normal MTB. Im imagining lots of gear crunching noises if you dont get it right. How are these bikes in wind? as some of the area im riding is across open ground where winds blast through on certain days. (why is it always a head wind going and returning?) would this affect battery charge? A couple of areas I use have gates but are uphill after the gates, is it easy to pedal on when pushing off uphill? Are the lights good on the Woosh and do they eat your battery? Is it a matter of just changing seat posts in a standard size if I dont get on with the seat? Any decent vids out there showing the Woosh Sirrocco in action? The only one I found was the owner showing a problem with the bike. Not good. any help please.
