A2b upgrade after illness

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I am wondering if someone could point me in the right direction on a couple of matters please?

I have an Ultramotor a2b 26" hybrid.

I have suffered a serious illness where I cannot even peddle an electric bike.

My only option would be to fit a throttle and hopefully a new faster controller to the bike to continue to us the bike off road.

Could anyone please point me in the right direction as to what spec and type controller and throttle I should be looking to buy please?

I have a look on ebay but have no idea if they would work on this bike.

Thank you for any help anyone could offer.

Neil

This may help with the connections,
I'm guessing the 3 pins will be 0v 5v and signal, and from the video it looks like he's shorting the 5v to the signal to get the motor to run full speed. D8veh may be able to help on this, and may have a nice half twist throttle. The pain will be threading the wire through the frame! Where abouts are you based?
Local to me then! If its the one with the controller built into the wheel Dave's right. Buy a scooter, if its like the one in the video there's some hope.

Won't a bit of gentle exercise help in any way with your illness?

Been to see him today, and he's now sorted! Albeit on a new bike which is better suited to his condition and a lot lighter for him.
