My problem just now is this. I have both pedal assist and electric only throttle with my Synergie Calypso X2 bike...3 years old. The battery if fine..so it seems. all leds on .full power. but when I am riding lately, the power cuts out after a few seconds and then comes back on again. It will do this intermittently and never happened before. I have cleaned the whole bike and all connections seem to be good. I wondered if the problem could be with the rocker switch which lets me switch between pedal asist and e power only. Any helpers out there?

Cheers Ian

At three years old, I'd say that the battery is getting tired. Do you have the LED control panel with three levels of assist? If not, do you have some other battery indicator LEDs on the handlebars?

Does it cut out when going up hills, or does it do it when you go over a bump, or is it completely random?

I have an LED control panel with 3 levels of assist. battery power is great according to this, as the control shows 4 lights indicating full power. The power cuts out at any time ....randomly .

When you go up a steep hill, how many of the battery indicator LEDs go out?

When I go up a steep hill, one of the four lights will go out and then after a minute on the flat, the 4 lights will come back on and usually stay on for quite a while...maybe an hour and after a long ride, they will drop to 3 and 2.

If it's a battery problem, it'll cut when you accelerate from a standstill or when you go up a hill. If it's a connection or switch problem, it'll cut when you go over a bump. I can't think of any causes that would make it cut in other conditions other than the battery empty.

When you say the power comes back on, do you mean that you have to press the button on the display to bring it back, or does it come back by itself?

No the battery lights (4 LEDS..indicating maximum battery power) always stay on , even though the power to the hub on the front wheel momentarily cuts out. I never have to press the button to turn the power back on. Should i recheck all the connections in every possible place?

This might be a silly but it happened to me . I had a intermittent like this ,it went away when I disconnected the brake cutout wires , I had a problem in one of the brake cut out switches , I think water might have got inside , The bike had got drenched a few days before and had not been used , after 10 minutes with a hair dryer the fault went away and never returned .

regards emma

Yes. Brake switches. Some people ride with a finger on the brake like on a motorcycle. That'll cause cut-outs. I forgot about that. Sticking brake cables too, but that would keep the poer off after using the brakes.
