November 30, 201411 yr Hi All I have recently purchased a Prorider E-Wayfarer folding bike http://www.proriderleisure.com/leisure/electric-bikes/e-wayfarer-electric-folding-bike-red.html I would like to get a maintenance stand (hope that is correct name) for this Any suggestions? Thanks
November 30, 201411 yr Try decathlon I notiiced last week they were selling 3 types starting at £40 going up to £100.
November 30, 201411 yr Hi John, Welcome to the forum. From time to time Lidl sell reasonable workstands for £30, it's identical to this one from Decathalon http://www.decathlon.co.uk/one-workshop-stand-id_8309301.html Because of the extra weight of electric bikes you need a sturdy one with good strong clamps.
November 30, 201411 yr The design of the frame is going to make using a work stand awkward. I don't think the stand clamp will grip the main part of the frame. The clamp, turned vertical, might grip the seat post. You would certainly need the battery out, and it could be there is a battery mounting rail welded to the seat post which might hinder the grip of the stand's clamp. http://www.proriderleisure.com/leisure/electric-bikes/e-wayfarer-electric-folding-bike-red.html
November 30, 201411 yr One of these would solve the problem of clamping the frame. December 1, 201411 yr I don't bother with a stand, I put Mountain bike horns on the handle bars (I'm sure they have a correct name) - the ones that stick forwards. adjust them up so when the bike is put upside down it rests on these and the seat. Flip the bike the correct way up and just keep flipping it over as required. Occasionally if required I suspend the bike from the roof of my shed with a rope, but a stand - you have to store that and it takes space as well as money!! Try managing without a stand Johng1010, you'd be surprised at how much of a good workout you get! James
December 2, 201411 yr Hi All I have recently purchased a Prorider E-Wayfarer folding bike http://www.proriderleisure.com/leisure/electric-bikes/e-wayfarer-electric-folding-bike-red.html I would like to get a maintenance stand (hope that is correct name) for this Any suggestions? Thanks I have hooks on chains screwed into my garage joist/crossbeam. One hook holds onto the handlebars about the centrepost, the other hooks onto the back of the saddle. Adjust the length to suit your needs. They can be lifted up on themselves when not wanted example link below http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suspension-Hooks-with-chain-for-Bicycle-2-pieces-/191243598669

December 3, 201411 yr Like these handle bar ends... http://f.cl.ly/items/2B292Z1g2t2o3d3y2I0m/KTM.jpg
December 3, 201411 yr Like these handle bar ends... Wicky - I don't want to hijack the thread but can I ask which seat post you have fitted to your eRaceP and also how do you like it? My bike's the estyleP so the same one would would probably fit and I could do with a bit more cushioning for my back end! Jim
December 3, 201411 yr Jim, This thread has some good pointers to seat posts in it: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/winter-riding.18990/ I just ordered a new one from Germany today with suspension in it based on d8veh's recommendations. James
December 3, 201411 yr Jim - http://www.rosebikes.co.uk/product/detail/aid:614120 Makes quite a diffrence esp on the bumpy roads. Easy to fit and swap saddles - just a couple of bolts to undo. I was lucky as I had a 10% off voucher so effectively free P&P.

December 4, 201411 yr I've just purchased and used this stand for the first time... http://oypla.com/sports-leisure/cycling/home-mechanic-folding-bicycle-bike-repair-stand It's rated to carry 30kg and it coped with my KTM eLycan fine. It seems like a very well made stand and incredibly good value for £30 delivered!

Thanks
December 8, 201411 yr Hi Not quite sure what this does Is the idea to clamp this onto seat and handlebar stems to create a crossbar? Thanks I believe that this would be to create a crossbar for bikes without to aid clamping for servicing purposes and allow supporting from closer to the centre of gravity with a stand. James
December 8, 201411 yr Hi Do you have another link I get "Product not found" with that one and searching there site can't find anything Thanks The link did work last week, it would seem that they have sold out and removed it from stock and searches!
