A newbie to eBikes

Featured Replies

Hi all, I thought I join this community as I have now got an ebike. So I will introduce myself, I have been cycling when I was young & returned to cycling after 20 years of disability making it impossible. Now returned to cycling after a major op 5yrs ago & recently got a 2nd hand ebike (Momentum Upstart) to help with the 22 mile commute to work with my disability thanks to crowdfunding & some awesome friends, family & supporters. Always thought ebikes are a great idea for those with difficulty cycling & so wished they were around many many years ago. I'm not bothered who uses an ebike (as long as it is a road legal one) if it helps them get about, stay fitter & not have to get a car instead. :D

Hello, welcome! Good to hear you're feeling well enough to get out and about and tackle a 22 mile commute - that's good going even with some assistance!

Thanks, I can cycle longer distances without the need of pedal assisted bike but its too much for my knackered legs to do & stand for hours at work too. So having a gentle assistance at junctions & hills does help the legs a lil bit & is good to cycle a bit more this way. :)
