  1. That’s roughly 100 miles a month, you should be pleased with that effort. The thing is this week I’ve only been out once on my bike, but that was 30 miles so I went a lot further up those pesky hills than I would have done on my old bike......
  2. Utterly correct, which is why in 10 weeks of doing swimming I've weighed in this morning and lost one and a half stone..... What works for some doesn't for others. I'm happy with the swimming, biking, walking and cutting back a little bit on the treats, beer etc.
  3. I love my Apple Watch. It's the 2nd model so I use it to help me tell me how many lengths I've done. Believe me I forget so for that feature alone I love it. I walk about 5 miles a day most days which equates to about 10000 steps. I swim 4 times a week, roughly 60 lengths, and I'm still bloody fat. Cutting back on the alcohol has helped, problem is holidays and family celebrations tend to get in the way and I fall off the wagon again..... I like my gadgets, it's recording my movements and since July has pushed me to hit my targets each and every day. That alone is spuring me on, I really feel I've got the fitness bug back now.. Today I'm off out on the ebike, I'll be putting the effort in as usual but knowing I can get up those bloody steep hills with a bit of help.
  4. Wot a load of b*****ks. Man/woman = some great, some not so great, some shite at (insert task here). Humour like this went down the pan some time back.
  5. Seriously this is the most amazing fun. Anyone who says we're cheats doesn't have a clue. Cycled more this year than I have in the last 10, and I've only had it a month! Good looking bike btw
  6. Good effort, hope it brings many miles of smiles.
  7. I have a 29 hardtail xduro cx. 500w v 400w for £100 more makes me think you should go for the cx. I absolutely love my bike, it makes getting up those hills a breeze but I know I'm still working out. 22 miles the other night. No complaints yet. Fantastic product.
  8. As a non subscriber I can't read the article, just the first paragraph.
  9. Well I am still loving mine. I decided to spend a fair bit on it mind but I actually look forward to riding it. Just back from a 22 hilly ride in the sun. I know I've had a workout, I'm sweating, my heart rate was up however the extreme hills I got up without stopping would have made me grumpy on the old bike. Instead I now have a big grin on my face. This isn't the busiest forum I guess which is why people go quiet, however I check up every couple of days.
  10. Enjoy. I've bought one recently, Haibike Bosche motor. Utterly love it
  11. 33 mile ride today. Utterly loved it. Had it 10 days and been out on it 5. I know I'm working out, pushing myself however those real steep hills the assist is fantastic, 2 pounds lost this week so going in the right direction!
  12. What a great app. I'd love to try that one day, you've given me an idea though..... Will stick the bike on the back of the camper and head up to Wales
  13. It was just for a minute Artstu. I've literally knackered myself out on it since Saturday. Been right off road, thrones, nettles, cuts, sore bits all over. I am thoroughly enjoying myself, and the sweat dripping off my clothes indicates I'm not taking it easy by a long chalk. Very happy I decided on this purchase.
  14. I've cut back on bread and starchy refined carbs (pasta, rice, potatoes). Eating lots more fish, protein and lots of veg. Tuna salad for breakfast isn't a bad choice at all. I have loved bread and pasta since a child but strangely I don't miss it at all.
