November 10, 20178 yr Hi, I'm new to this site but I am trying to find an ebike shop near me (Wirral/Chester area) which will repair my 4 year old ebike. My local ebike shops will only repair brands they sell. I bought mine from Stoke which is too far to take. The problem was initially with a faulty rotation sensor but this was replaced (something my local shop could do) but then the battery discharged and was sent away and expensively rebuilt with Samsung cells. When it was returned there was no power to the wheel. The shop which rebuilt the battery are in York and say it must be a connection problem hence my need to find somewhere it can be looked at. Hope someone knows where I can take it.
November 10, 20178 yr Save yourself some time and money. Get yourself a voltmeter, show us a few photos of what you have, and I'll show you how to test it to find out what's wrong. It's not difficult.
November 10, 20178 yr Author Thank for the suggestion. I could get a voltmeter but I wouldn't know how to use it. Anyway, would it only tell me where the problem is? I need someone to fix it.
November 10, 20178 yr Can you imagine garages saying they will only service cars they have sold? https://www.e-bikeshop.co.uk/Servicing/Electric-Bike-Service-Menu
November 10, 20178 yr If the bike worked ok before the battery was recelled then it may be something simple like a blown fuse, also did you switch it on and was it charged up. We can teach you in using a volt meter as there is nothing tricky involved it would at least give an idea if there is an issue with the battery or charging.
