HI , A friend has a jolt e/bike pedal assist only and would like to fit a throttle to help on starting from a stand still . These are available on the web is it possible to fit one of these without chopping or splicing any of the existing wiring or changing the speed controller.

You or your friend will have to locate the controller then see if there is an unused 3 wire connector as some controllers will have this option but not used., if so you can use any 3 wire throttle. There should be 1 or 2 x 3 wire connectors in use pas and speed sensor if the bike has a wheel magnet for sensing.

 

You can't splice or wire a throttle in if the controller hasn't been programmed for one, so if no spare wire connector you would have to change the controller.
