Battery cell

Featured Replies

Hi and thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

In 2013 I brought my wife who has spina bifida an ebco eagle lrl 50 electric bike, she is very unstable and will no longer use the bike, it has done a total of 75km. I have a little too infrequently charged the battery. The battery is a 36v 10a lipo. I recently noticed that the battery had swollen and to cut a long story short one of the 3.7 volt cells has swollen and died, the other 9 cells are fine. I have searched to no avail for a new cell and if any knowledgable person one here would know where I can get one I'd be extremely grateful.IMG_20190605_151821.thumb.jpg.f9ae19e0a16ae3f0df5d21946c964237.jpgIMG_20190605_151811.thumb.jpg.88de6aa1c3621b8be6e9067df8c76f3c.jpg

Hardly anybody uses pouch cells anymore. Most likely, you'll need to replace the whole cell-pack with an 18650 one.
You will find those on Aliexpress but to find one that is compatible (same characteristics as old cells from 2013) with the other cells is very likely impossible. The best thing to do is either buy a new cargo rack with battery or have the original battery overhauled with 18650 cells and a new BMS.
