Convert Yuba Combi to ebike

Featured Replies

The Yuba Combi costs about £1000 while its ebike equivalent is the Combi E5 costs around £3100. Am I better off getting a specialist to convert the Yuba Combi with a conversion kit and save myself a load of cash. I need an ebike to lug a 7 year old but £3100 is more than I can afford. If the conversion is with Bosch Performance Line I will have a better motor than the Yuba Combi E5's shimano steps E5000 motor that the Combi E5 comes with?
Bosh don't sell mid drive kits for conversion and if you could get one the 3K bike would be cheaper to buy.

I had the same thought.

The other issue is cutting and shutting the frame to fit a mid drive motor bracket, for the diyer these type of mid drive just aren't practical on a diy scale. Diy is for a cheaper option not to over complicate with specialist welding and jigs to align the frame and fitting.
