January 12, 20224 yr Just bought a Hornit - it's loud! This drunk wandering fool didn't know I was approaching until I beeped my Honitt 140db. If he hadn't changed direction and if I had swerved, the passing car might have caused me bodily problems. It's well worth 20 pounds IMHO.
January 13, 20224 yr I got these rear reflectors from bankrupt parts on ebay, hoping cars will allow more room... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/392286284567
January 14, 20224 yr They look good, better than the lollipop flag we had when we had children (35 years ago) on the back of the tandem. Do they flip back if you go through narrow gaps? They look maybe a bit too rigid? We also had a high flag on the trailer with a light at the bottom that lit the entire shaft and (slightly) the flag itself.

The reflectors wobble and bob about a bit on springs, and flex when the bike is propped up against a wall. I haven't been able to go out for a ride yet, hope they don't make any loud noises. If they only make springy noises when going over potholes, I'd find that acceptable. Let's see how long it lasts! The plastic clasp holding it to the rack looks a bit flimsy, I might try to reinforce that with two metal strips. Edited January 14, 20224 yr by guerney
January 14, 20224 yr They certainly look interesting If these flashers aren't heavy enough to make the springs sag, these could turn into indicator lights. I'll have to find some which just flash red: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192312624025?_trkparms

January 14, 20224 yr No gloves ? It was a very warm night, and I'd forgotten! Now I keep my gloves velcroed to the bike handlebar.
February 1, 20224 yr While I wardriving yesterday I passed cyclist who had a flashing rear light alternating between a red light & a white light. Is this illegal or just stupid?
February 1, 20224 yr While I wardriving yesterday I passed cyclist who had a flashing rear light alternating between a red light & a white light. Is this illegal or just stupid? White light visible to the rear is always wrong unless a reversing light, properly used. That'll be law, not guidance.
