Chain for 8 speed hub geared ebike?

Featured Replies

Fairly basic KMC single speed chain. I got a KMC Z1X Ept E-Bike Chain for a bit over £10 for our Motus hub. I don't know if it is really any better than the standard Z1, but there wasn't much difference in price when I ordered.

KMC's new rust protection does look interesting - I'll try one of these, replacing my annoyingly ever rusty no matter what I do X1

I recently bought KMC Z1 e HX chains for our Motus bikes. Says they are specifically built for e bikes and have rust protection. Certainly seem to do the job.

In practice, I have 2 chains for each bike. That way I can have cahins cleaned and lubricated ready to fit when I service. Saves a job while busy servings and can be done more at leisure.
