Tesco Hopper

Featured Replies

Hi i have a Tesco Hopper foldable bike I purchased about 2014 I was wondering where can I purchase spare parts for the battery carrier can any body help.

I almost bought a similarly priced Argos ebike a couple of years ago, but enquiries about where to get spare batteries resulted in a high priced quote, so I bought a kit instead. If it has unusual fittings, they might be small run for what is after all, a captive market, therefore the prices compared to generic parts might be higher? Sorry, I'm rambling - I don't know the answer to your question, but I would check all documentation you have; instruction manual etc, then google the model number of your bike or otherwise find the manufacturer which Tesco bought your bike from to brand "Tesco" and sell on to you. If it's some Chinese company, they may have sold large numbers to a distributor in the UK, which Tesco may have bought them all from, but I doubt it because Tesco would most likely order at scale directly from a manufacturer to get the lowest unit price.

If you upload a few photos of what you are looking for, someone else might know - or suggest an alternative product which could fit?

Sounds like Tesco were selling the Viking Hopper which is a model from Avocet sports. Might be worth contacting Avocet to see if they can help. Tesco don't import these bikes themselves but normally make use of a bike importer. I bought the i-fold folding bike from Tesco a few years ago which I think I got for £40. The brand for that was Schiano or something like that but Schiano wasn't mentioned in the Tesco information about the bike.

I bought one a few years ago which was never used, recently cleaned it down and bought a new battery here:

It seems fine and works OK but not used it much yet.

The battery came with a new mount for the seat post so you can dump the problem one, and a chager and seems to be reasonable for the price.
