BMS replacement in eBike battery

Featured Replies

No, the soc matters not as long as the cells are pretty well balanced.

If the sense wire jst connecotr is different then make sure the wires are connected in the correct sequence and don't connect the jst connector until you have doube checked the voltages ascend corectly.

Thanks for this. Was a bit nervous re soldering connections to BMS. But I guess if the jst connector is not connected - there isn't any voltage around.

Voltages all ascend ok on the jst connector.

Seem to have been successful with replacement BMS. Recharging now working again.

Extra sensor came with BMS - have asked for info on where to place it. Guessing it's a temperature sensor.

Need a couple of longer rides now to see if everything discharges and recharges ok.
