October 24, 20241 yr Finally made the bike rideable, the only thing that isn't brand new is the frame which I stripped bare and had powdercoated. It rides really nice, but have ordered a different chainwheel as I can't get into the biggest gears on the cassette the way it is at the moment. I actually have two of these bikes now, one electric and one normal, I've tried to set them up so they are the same except for the motor, which included lots of measuring to the floor and the handlebars etc.

Are the tyres bigger on the orange bike? How much was the powder coating and where did you get it done? What make is that nice polished crankset on the orange one?
October 24, 20241 yr Sweet build . Is the manual one Campagnolo? They do polish up nice, maybe the alloy was better quality then?
October 24, 20241 yr Author The crank on the orange one is a shimano that I stripped and polished myself, the powdercoating on the black one cost £40, and I got it done at Spraytech in Bishops Stortford. The £40 is just for the powdercoating, so I had to give them a ready to go frame that was totally stripped of paint in every crevice. Yes the tyres are bigger on the orange one but may switch those round at some point with the electric one.

I noticed you have redundant brake sensor connections, and throttle, I think. You can buy a Julet 1-2 cable (display+throttle) from Topbikekit for $3.72, I have one but have blanked off the throttle connector. They come in two different lengths. https://topbikekit.com/12-julet-extend-cable-ebike-waterproof-cable-295725cm-for-meter-and-throttle-p-903.html?zenid=28tmrupopnp13ki7l3brn4jho5
October 24, 20241 yr Really neat conversion. I like cable protector under motor. Did you buy or 3D print it? Well done. PS For this bike I would choose rear hub motor.

October 25, 20241 yr Very nice. Is this a town zip about or maybe looking to add a rack (very handy things are racks) Another thing I've wondered is battery packs. The bike is sweet, very streamlined, but the battery pack is a big chunk of a thing. So could one of the long batteries you see in high end mtbs like the bosch 625wh be utilized ?
October 25, 20241 yr Could pouncing badgers be more visible through the battery if cameras on opposite sides projected images on TFT panels on the sides of the battery? Edited October 25, 20241 yr by I893469365902345609348566
