Was looking into converting but at the price it would cost to convert I could get something like this. Haven’t seen many online reviews other than on the Argos website so just wondering if people have experience with these bikes and if they’re worth it (found a brand new one on FB marketplace for £300). It's be brilliant - no issues at all, and very nice to ride. It was a bargain at £340. The other is a 20" folding one. It's brakes were poorly set up, and the battery switch failed after a few presses, but I got it half price at £235, so I'm not complaining. The bike you linked to has no gears and a battery inside the frame tube. They don't say the capacity of the battery, but at only 1.5kg, it won't have a lot of capacity. Without looking at the battery, I can't be sure, but there might be a problem to get a replacement when the time comes, so I'd pay the extra £75 for this one, which has a standard battery with 33% more capacity and gears: http://:bottomSlider:p1:OHAT:alternatives:1933956:szq1KVScHny6xRvVhYP1 The one you linked might be OK if you don't weigh much. A fully kitted out bright yellow Momentum Transend came up for sale not far from me for a similar price, and I do have a non-electric bike with rigid forks, but my aching wrists prefer a bit of suspension at the front, even if it's only of the 'pogo stick' variety, so someone else snapped it up while I was dithering. November 7, 20241 yr The 'built in' look of many e-bikes will frequently bite the buyers in the wallet when it comes to battery replacement when only one style will fit and is either no longer available or costs 2,3x or more than a comparative battery using top quality cells.

One or two forum members have had trouble with sorting out their Impels. I always recommend to get bikes with standard Chinese parts if you just want a bike to ride around on. In-frame batteries might look neat, but they can be very difficult to get hold of when you need a replacement. When you have a battery mounted on the downtube, you can always change the holder along with the battery when fashions change. None of these things matter until you need a new battery, which will be a certainty. It's just a matter of time.

November 8, 20241 yr But it's rim brakes It has rear disk brake mounts, very handy. One could immediately upgrade to a rear hydraulic disk brake for about £30, this would not only improve the braking performance but also save the rear rim. Upgrade the forks and front brake in the fulness of time.
