February 2Feb 2 Hi all, would be v grateful for some advice please. I have a SW102 display on my 2019 Carbo Model S. Water has gotten into the display and it no longer shows anything, though the buttons turn the bike on/off & adjust the assist level correctly. I can’t find an SW102 with the same male 5 pin screw connector anywhere online, and am trying to work out what’s best to do. Ideally I’d just buy a direct replacement if anyone knew where I could get one? Failing that, do I need to just buy any SW102 screen, cut my current connectors off, buy and fit a new 5 pin set and wire them the same as my current ones? Or is that way too simple? Pics attached. My very generic looking controller has a ‘drawing number’ LD-JH-007 - not sure if that is the model no..? Motor is Bafang with RM G020.350.DC 08 written on it. Thanks v v much in advance.
February 3Feb 3 Chances are a generic sw102 display will work for you But unfortunately you cant rely on the connector being the only proprietary aspect in play here. While SW102 displays are fairly common Depending on the bike 'manufacturer'/Brand they may also have requested bespoke f/w from the suppliers to do things like flash a company logo on the screen at start up etc.. And such non standard mods can stop you from using an off the shelf generic sw102 replacement. And will require a spare from the manufacturer if available and necessitating a controller swap out too if not. So Play safe and source any replacements you take a punt on from suppliers fairly local who will take returns without a problem and wont break the bank in return pnp costs.. AND I would wire up and test without modifying/chopping any supplied plugs/sockets just in case.. Also confirm any replacement sw102 you buy is ok for 36v explicitly. good luck ps 5 pin display wiring is generally + battery voltage(red), bike lock(blue),ground (black) and Rx, Tx for data comms. if you run into problems Many generic controllers will run headless (no display) with throttle control (not pas) if the wires #1, and #2 from the control box are shorted ( frequently coloured red and blue ,+battery voltage on pin#1 red. ) Or-- you could buy the cheapest < $5 ali express cycle 'computer' for speed/time distance etc..
