Just to give you all a heads up that Pedelecs will shortly be moving to a new hosting company.

 

Alongside this we are also moving away from the current Xenforo forum software and moving over to Invision 5.

 

This will take approximately 2-3 days and during this time the current site will be set to read only. Once back up and running there will be further updates but this can happen while the site is live.

Hi Peter, top right above the Wisper banner next to the 'flag' icon there is an 'unread' content button.

The menu bar will soon have a 'What's New?' option as well.

UPDATE: I forgot to mention that being new forum software it has to run a large number of background processes so this feature most likely won't work until tomorrow.

Hi all,

the Pedelecs site has now found a new home with a different hosting provider. Alongside that, we've changed the forum software.

There is still a lot of work to be done (including lots of background processes re-indexing and updating content), so please bear with us over the next few days.

I've noticed there is no thumb up "Like" icon, but there are two thumb down icons denoting "Boring" and "Dislike". The cross icon can be "Angry", "Disagree" and "Indifferent", which doesn't seem quite right, because angry and indifferent are different states. Could there be a devilish "Evil" icon?

My eyesight is pretty awful, I'm finding this modern font difficult to read, prefer something with serifs. My eyeballs latch onto serifs.

I mean an evil icon for using within posts, rather than react to posts with.

Could we go back to being edit posts for up to 24 hours?

I will be going through all the reactions as there are far too many! Some I just had to assign an image to during import so they will be incorrect as you've spotted.

Ah didn't realise you were on mobile!

Do you see a menu bar at the bottom of the screen? If so, unread content should be first button on the left.

"Unread content" when you hit the horizontal line menu, bottom right of the browser.

Uploading Attachment...

Hmmm... I'm unable to edit a post which contains an uploaded image - displays "Uploading Attachment", despite having appeared to have uploaded.

Could the posts have #n numbers, as they did before?

There's about 50 background processes that the admin side of things is going through at the moment, I don't expect it settle down for 24 hours or so. Hopefully that issue will resolve by then.

Post numbers - no idea, I'll find out.

For any of our regular users trying to log in - if your password isn't recognised (mine wasn't), reset it with the link for "Forgot your password?". The email containing the link to reset your password, may be in your Spam or Junk folder.

The system might claim not to recognise your email address, but will send the password reset email anyway.

This 5 minute edit window is too short, much orefer our previous 24 hour time limit.

I realy like seeing how many times threads have been viewed - turns out some threads I assumed nobody ever saw, have in fact been visited zillions of times.

"All activity" seems to sortof provide the "What's new" function did on the old forum software.

Does it exclude posts on "General Chat" threads, as on the old forum platform?

Can't delete my previous post above - it stalled trying to load an image which had already uploaded, couldn't edit.

Unfortunately Invision removed this in a previous version.

#n was always a little unreliable, as they changed if posts were removed.
