The Elios looks good value for just over £500 , the pink one looks a bit of a lump . One way to find out , pay your £4 and try one for an hour . At least they have a Showroom to see the machines .

Yes it must worry lots of potential Ebike purchasers , being a long way from the Supplier or Dealer .I suppose at those prices if you have problems after the warranty period you could throw it in a skip ! By this time Ebikes will have moved on a bit and you can start again . I must say that pink one`s frame looks like a piece off the Forth Bridge . Could be handy in fending off a car though .

The Sirocco weighs 22 kgs - it's one of the lightest bikes on the market.

The weight is more or less the same as all the other bikes in the cheaper and middle-range prices: 22kg without battery and about 25kg with battery. It looks like it has the standard 8Fun electrical kit fitted, so it'll probably perform just like all the others, so I don't believe that there will be many complaints in that area (if anywhere). I think that the Sirrocco looks like a really nice bike. The choice gets harder as more of these bikes come on the market. Replacement 10aH lithiun batteries for £145 sounds too good to be true. I suspect that the price doesn't include VAT, but then it would still only be £165! Do you think that they'll sell them seperately?

dont see why they would'nt sell, a sale a sale.

Just spotted on their website that "Due to the rising cost of batteries" the bikes will be going up by £10 each on 1st June.

Still seems very good value.

I agree generally but their website quotes the 22kg with battery. The Sirocco's alloy frame appears to have a tiny cross section, that must have shed some kilograms.

It says the frame size is 17". Seems a bit on the small side, or have I read it wrong?

Woosh Bikes....? I'd never heard of them before today but maybe I just don't get out enough?

 

Even if they use fairly cheap, low-grade components, they do nevertheless appear to be remarkable value for money. I'm not sure how they can knock them out at the prices quoted and make a profit. The Sirocco model does look like a nice bike and if it is indeed only 22Kgs, that's unbelievably cheap for such a lightweight machine.

 

Although I shan't be rushing out to buy one, I will be interested to read any comments put up by early trialists. As for the batteries; well, I must be missing something as I fail to understand how they can come to market with batteries priced such a lot lower than everybody else. Not that I'm complaining about cheap batteries! I've said many times that we're all being ripped off by the battery manufacturers and suppliers but if we're not, as has been pointed out to me, where do Woosh get theirs from and will they prove to be any good?

If he's riding a 52cm framed bike he doesn't have short legs. I have a 32" inside leg and I'm looking for a 21" frame. That's been the size of frame I've used on bikes since I grew up.

Are you saying that someone 5'8" should have a 33" inside leg? I really doubt that.

I think somebody's been mucking about with my body, then.

 

My inside leg is 29", so according to your chart I am at least 7" too tall.

Not quite, they've been cheaper at times, down to £315. Tesco also sold these for a while under the name Meerkat Metro.

 

Sports UK market the Cyclamatic e-bikes which are better buys than those lead-acid battery Izips, having a lighter lithium battery and much more modern motor system. They have occasional discount weekends with the price sometimes down to £319 from memory.
