Battery help

hi folks ive got an ebike with a 36v 250w front wheel ebay kit on bought it without a battery on.
So ive sourced a 48v 10ah bottle battery
Which also come with a controller secondhand but its for a 1000w motor

Can i just fit the battery my original 36v controller has 63v cap fitted but i googled the fet and thats rated 37v so would the 48v battery fry my controller

Try it. Those controllers only cost about $15 if it blows. It will probably be OK. What have you got to lose?

I could try the other controller 1000w and plug in speed restriction blue wires to restrict it to 250w would that work

How does the blue wire restrict it to 250w? What does that mean?

Manual says connect e an f together speed limit function

That should be OK then as it limits the current as well as the speed.
