Hi there.
Just looking for some advice please in relation to battery storage.
I purchased two rear hub ebike kits from Bmsbattery recently which I keep away from home. I know this isn’t the practice but they will be left unused, probably, for two months at a time. They will be used daily for a week in between.
My questions are, what is the best state of charge to store them and how do I achieve this?
Many thanks.

My bottle battery has been in the cupboard for about a year now, it is charged to 38.5v and at each control hasn't budged.

If you can keep the voltage around 37-39v when not in use, you will get the best life from them. They should hold that voltage for 2 months as they are new.

Thanks for the replies.
Forgot to say it’s 48V 11.6Ah.
So should I charge it fully before I store it?

50v is storage voltage for 13S

From the factory cells are charged to 3.85v so just multiply by the number in series.

Is there a way to achieve this specific voltage?
If for example, on the last day of use before storing the battery, I take a trip on the bike that uses 50% of the battery capacity, how do I get it to 50V?
Thanks.

Woosh has the magic formula for minutes of charge I just use a Wattmeter plugged in while I charge.

Ok. I see.
Will have to invest in one! Any links as to where to get one?

I have a Hobby King one but you can find them on ebay or amazon etc. How are you going to plug it in? I swapped all my plugs on battery, charger, controller for XT60 plugs.

Would a good quality fluke volt meter connected at the battery terminals be sufficient?

Yes. That is what I do.
Voltage doesn't have to be on the dot, 49.5 -50v is fine for 13s/48v.

No need to be too anal about the precise voltage! If you do what you suggest above, you should be fine.
Its bad storing batteries fully charged (and also storing them in hot places).
And its potentially bad having them fully discharge. So SOMEWHERE in the middle is what you are aiming for.
