March 28, 20197 yr Hi I have managed to fry the bms I think it’s happened due me plugging in the charger when it was switched off and getting sparks. Hoping someone can help as I’m struggling to find a matching replacement in the uk, all the ones I’m finding have all the balancing wires on one plug. Is a 48v 20amp 13series with the measurements 8x55x125mm The original came from BMSBATTERY 09 dolphin case .
March 28, 20197 yr The sparks you get from the charger are perfectly normal and not likely to damage anything. When you say "fried", where are the burnt components? Can I suggest that you start from the beginning and explain what the problem is, then perhaps we can help. In the meantime, you might want to check that yellow fuse. Mind you, R26 in the middle of the board doesn't look in good shape, but that could just be the photo.
March 28, 20197 yr [quote="vfr400, post: 493694, member: 5808" Mind you, R26 in the middle of the board doesn't look in good shape, but that could just be the photo. R26 does look like it's been toasted.
March 28, 20197 yr The bms has quite a few wire connectors obviously the opposite balance leads and a s/w on the lower middle lhs. A simpler 13s bms with switch will do the same job but depends on other features your one has, I assume a temp sensor and possibly a usb port. What doe the 4 pin connection at the very bottom do, most likely better getting one off Aliexpress. Seller ANN/ANN Battery I have had no issues with their bms and have used a few.
March 28, 20197 yr Author Thanks for the replies I will try and answer all the questions The battery will not charge and there is no voltage on the output wires from the bms The charger is fine and has 53v on the output. I have checked the voltage at the balancing wires 7.5v each pair and a total of 47v on the main wires to the bms. If you zoom in there is a burnt out resistor R26 and it has a electrical burnt smell. The 2 small plugs with 2 wires go to the main on/off switch and this tests out ok The plug with the 4 wires go to a usb output charger not to bothered with this and never use it. The 2 wires with the silicon is a temperature sensor.
March 28, 20197 yr If not bothered about usb then a generic 13s with switch will do the job. To replace the Bms you can cut/join & insulate C-.P & B- connections or solder directly, having the sense wires in one connection makes no difference you can simply solder the wires to the existing wires and insulate each joint to save soldering to the cells. Simply connect cell wiring in correct sequence of 1 -14 with #1 being B- and 2 -13 = b1+ - b13+ is the usual sequence. Though I always double check as I go along and never connect the sense jst until I have probed the final voltages to be 100%. This one with switch is fine to use with top balance and is 20a constant discharge if 20a is ample for your needs, mine arrive 7 -14days from this reliable seller. Though over discharge current isn't mentioned it will do up to 50/60 amps for about 30secs. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/48V-E-bike-lithium-battery-BMS-13S-48V-20A-BMS-Charging-Voltage-54-6V-With-balance/32809303903.html?spm=2114.search0204.3.42.44ad614dEZZMAO&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_5_10065_10130_10068_10547_319_317_10548_10696_10192_10190_453_10084_454_10083_10618_10307_10820_10301_10821_10303_537_536_10902_10059_10884_10887_321_322_10103,searchweb201603_16,ppcSwitch_0&algo_expid=71be53a8-87aa-4e98-9b79-45d6026b37ed-6&algo_pvid=71be53a8-87aa-4e98-9b79-45d6026b37ed&transAbTest=ae803_3 Edited March 28, 20197 yr by Nealh

You just need to cut the old connectors off the sense wires (one at a time) and splice them to the new connector in the right sequence.
March 28, 20197 yr You can buy some Ann ones on ebay but sellers over hear like to hike the price to at least double or 2.5x the price.
March 28, 20197 yr Two rec's so take your pick one with soldered wires to pcb or one without. Another 40a continuous with s/w. https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/3-7V-cell-13S-48V-40A-lithium-battery-BMS-With-ON-OFF-switch-and-balance-function/623665_32847121949.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.24.27277abeeAGNsE
March 28, 20197 yr Author Thanks for the replys I found a uk supplier so will order the 40amp one just in case I had pushed it doing a couple of big hills on max chasing a roady
October 26, 20205 yr Hi I have 48v tzds2 for a year I like . The battery came with the kit and connects to the motor with two wires black to black, red to red. No probs great. Now I have 48v Truckrun M01. Purchased separately I was hoping to get another battery base, and use the same battery for both bikes. Problem . The cable between the motor and battery has a plug at the motor end and the other is bare. Two fatter wires are red and black and four thin wires are , blue, green, brown and orange. Uhm, I look more closely at the battery . Four terminals ,two +ve and two -ve connect with the base . Both +ve and -ve join , resulting in two wires leaving the base to the motor . One red, one black. The base of the battery base has a detachable ally bit , empty, it looks heat sink like and has nine tapped holes down one side. It’s a shallow container. The motor specifications called the lead between motor and battery , ‘battery and battery communication lead It mentions a HDQ battery management system , built in 12c/ 13c rs485 protocol and digital communication interface At the moment this is new stuff for me , the curve is steep but I can follow instructions and think. Is there a solid state board made for the job. Seems like the bms in the battery is for charging and there should be another concerned with discharging. I read that to just join red, black it will not work nor will the screen. Help me please. PWH
October 26, 20205 yr Wall of text that I can't follow from where you wrote "Problem". I'm pretty sure that some of what you're saying is wrong. Maybe start again with simple questions and photos one point at a time for anything you don't understand, or ask multiple questions but each in separate paragraphs as separate points so that we can get there step by step.
