Is this battery safe?

I have been looking at a colleagues ebike conversion at work today at lunch as I have reverently become interested in such things.
We were investigating a rattle so decided to look inside
There were only 3 screws to take off the cap, and inside it looks like this

Is this stuff inside ok? Is it likely to be waterproof if water gets in? Because the casing doesn't seem terribly well waterproofed , e.g. the USB socket has a hole in it and you can see straight through

i dont think any batt is totality waterproof not even bosch ones but the inside looks like most batts of that size.

Not sure the "boost" website doesn't say the address of where it comes from / where they are based but probably in London I think that's where my colleague is from (don't know very well, big company) https://boostbike.uk/contactus
