Ah ha! You have misled me, it's a derailleur gear on the BH, unusual with a Panasonic unit.

You must not change gear at a standstill with that type, but must maintain pedalling when changing gear on the road. In other words, change gear exactly as you did on the clone bike.

I knew i had misled you. Being a derailleur changes any other of your instructions?: cadence for minimum effort, max speed assisted for each gear, ratio of assisteance, gear for max speed with minimum effort on hills....?

No, none of those are changed, the only change being to the gearchanging technique.

I'm intrigued by the BH choice of a derailleur since the chain run is quite short on these bikes and they have an idler on the motor as well as the derailleur hanging rear mechanism. They've probably organised it to have a fairly straight chain run in the high gears (small rear sprockets).

You'll be having some of the more sporty Pro Connect types getting jealous! :D
