Yes, good looker Mike, I'd only seen stills before. Fair amount of hype in the commentary though. Obviously a Hall effect motor reading between the lines, and the comment on electric motors replacing IC in racing was laughable.

depends on class ;)

look here:
: : Electric Moto Corporation - Blade Specifications : :

it was used also for racing with some some good results !
(its lighter than a IC and for that handles very good..
also good acceleration because no gear-switching is needed)

of course: after 15min racing battery is emtpy :(

for cars:
look here:

0-100km/h in 3sec. !

video of the car beating a Ferrari 360 Mondena and a Porsche Carrera GT

onboard-video.. the car going on a public road - nice to watch

for the motorcycle: i would be pleased with an bike equivalent to a 125-250ccm IC-bike...
fast acceleration. topspeed 70-100km/h would be enough
i would love to use it here in Vienna in the city..
range: i never drive more than 30-40km a day.. so no problem

Electric vehicles have always been good for acceleration at lower speeds. Even half a century ago 8 ton trolleybuses would out-accelerate cars up to 20 or 30 mph.

That motor cycle you showed me before was the same, faster than the Honda up to 30 mph, but I know what would win after that!

That and the range are still serious limitations for any electric vehicle that has to carry it's own energy source (battery/capacitor etc).

I'd love to see electric cars become practical, but having seen so many promises regarding batteries fail in the past, I remain a cynic. New battery technologies are always wonderful until they get into customers hands. Then time after time they are exposed as lacking or even useless in practice.
