Electric vehicles have always been good for acceleration at lower speeds. Even half a century ago 8 ton trolleybuses would out-accelerate cars up to 20 or 30 mph.
That motor cycle you showed me before was the same, faster than the Honda up to 30 mph, but I know what would win after that!
That and the range are still serious limitations for any electric vehicle that has to carry it's own energy source (battery/capacitor etc).
I'd love to see electric cars become practical, but having seen so many promises regarding batteries fail in the past, I remain a cynic. New battery technologies are always wonderful until they get into customers hands. Then time after time they are exposed as lacking or even useless in practice.
