Waterproofing Yosepower

I recently ordered a Yosepower conversion kit for my bike to help with deliveries. However, the description says only the cables are fully waterproof and use in rain is not recommended. Would a light rain cause any problems with the motor or battery? If so, what measures can I take to prevent it?

Should be fine in all weathers, just make sure the cable going into the motor faces downwards in a small u shape loop before going back up the frame or fork.
You can also wrap the weatherproof cable connectors with some electrical insulating tape to be doubly sure.
A small plastic freezer bag over the display if you are really paranoid about it

The bike will be fine as long as it isn't left out in the rain for hours on end.
