    Am I imagining it?

OK, here's the story: I've got a Kudos Tourer which I love to bits and get between 30 and 40 miles from the battery, depending on route taken and how lazy I am. My wife bought me a spare battery and I charged it up and decided to fully discharge it to condition it. When I started using the new...

    On or Off-does it matter?

I have a rear hub motor. I leave it switched on all the time. The only time I take it out of the top power level is when I'm on a canal towpath. The motor just does its business and lets me do mine. It pushes me up hills and against headwinds, it even shoves me along when I'm tired and I pedal...

A little bit of knowledge needed

I've been asked by 2 people why you can't fit a hub dyno to the front wheel to charge the battery as the electric motor drives the bike. I tried explaining the laws of physics and electric generation and power losses during such generation to them. They didn't believe me. I told them both, if...

    Show us yer Motorbike

My Tiger. I've had it since new and love it to bits. It has taken me to many a bike rally. Also to many a hotel. I'm not too keen on camping. ;)

    131 Kilowatt Bike !!!!!!

I've got a Triumph Tiger 955 and I've also been all over Europe on it. Like you though, I've not used it since I got my Kudos. Just today though, I was reading on a biker forum about a nice trip to the far flung corners of Scotland. I can see me and Tiger having a weekend away in a couple of weeks.

    iPhone app - Runkeeper

I downloaded it and used it for 2 trips. They both uploaded to runkeeper.com and I could see them on their website. Later on they disappeared and now I can't send any from my phone to the website. I've deleted it from my phone and downloaded 'mytracks' This works great and tracks my trips and...

    How many gears

I'll jump into this thread if I may. I have the Kudos Tourer with 9 gears, I've used them all at one time or another. I think it needs 9 gears where I live, especially as I flattened the battery 2 miles from home with some long hills to get up. I never got out of the saddle once. On normal runs...

    a bit of a drag

Have you checked if the front or rear brakes are binding a bit? My kudos tourer freewheels OK when I stop pedaling.

Thinking of buying my first e bike, Wisper or Juicybike, any advice please?

When I was looking to buy my first E-bike I looked through this forum and all the links to Dealers. I looked at Juicy bikes and thought they looked strange. I looked at wisper and wasn't struck by the look of them, although the company did seem to have a good reputation and did answer peoples...

    I'm impressed with myself.

Yes I think I feel assistance up to about 16/16.5 Today on a flat bit of road with the wind behind me the tourer was doing almost 17mph with me just slowly moving the pedals in 1st gear. Normally though on that same bit of road it does just under 15mph with the pedals turning ever so slowly. I...

    I'm impressed with myself.

I've now done almost 200 miles on my ebike and either the bike is getting better or I'm getting fitter. This morning I did 22 miles at an average speed of 16.25 mph which is a slight increase in speed. However, what I noticed today was, I was going up the same hills as usual but at a faster...

    Sunday morning ride

Two recent rhreads have prompted me to write this post. The 1st was about a lady with a puncture and no-one stopped to help her. This morning I was out for my early morning ride when my speedometer started acting up. It was reading erratic, going from 4mph to 24mph with me not increasing or...

    You vs the average cyclist

My E-bike is faster with me on it than a non powered bike with me on it. I have been GPS checking my trips lately and I always average between 14 & 16 mph. That's in an area with very few flat roads. I did an 18 mile trip on Wednesday morning and averaged 14.8 mph with some long steep hills. I...

Going rate for fixing a puncture ?

I've no idea but assuming you mean repaired and not replaced the tube or tyre, I'll guess £10. Jim

    Canal towpath. hmm!

Rooel, That'as how I seemed to remember the towpath but it wasn't like that at Whitecross. I'll go down to Glen Village and get on there and see what it's like. Can you go all the way from Falkirk to Edinburgh without getting off the canal? Jim

    Canal towpath. hmm!

Ok I've now been getting the chance to go out and play on my new shiny electric bike. This morning I was out minding my own business on the quiet Sunday roads. I came to a bridge over the union canal near Whitecross and looked down. There it was, the "TOWPATH" It looked inviting and would...

    Kudos tourer, 1st real test

Putting the fuel gauge aside, 60 miles is pretty good. I'll run mine right down and see what I get. I'm always on level 5 power. I think if I have a level 5 it would be rude not to use it. :) Mind you I don't have any flat roads near me.

Kudos Tourer first decent ride review

OK, I did my first decent run on the Kudos Tourer today. 1st impressions are, I loved it. I live in a very hilly area in Central Scotland and was worried about the hills when I was searching for an E-bike. I chose the Kudos tourer for a couple of reasons: 1st it looks like a normal (to me)...
