Most of the stuff SD sell is rubbish. Mike Ashley the owner is constantly buying the rights to many names that were once names of quality.... Karrimor, Firetrap, Lonsdale etc etc. These names are then put on cheap rubbish made in the far east with none of the quality they used to be.
They don't...
What a joke that sentence is.
A mate of mine was killed riding his motorcycle a year ago. The woman who pulled out on him without looking was given a six-month community order, a curfew (11pm to 7am) and a 12-month driving ban.
She also only had to pay £85 costs and £60 victim surcharge.

I'm more understanding the importance of how the axle sits in the fork dropouts now. I shall be filing my drop outs wider and deeper if they need it. I can also now see the importance of the washer seating properly in the dimple of the dropouts.
I'm still undecided whether the kit i'll be...
Well ATM i'm still veering towards the 8fun...... this is purely on price and knowing i'll have the pedal assist for if I want to fit it sometime in the future.
Unless of course.... someone comes on here and convinces me the 8fun is crap :D
Yes, I get what your saying...... as my shifters are incorporated into the brake lever bracket, I may remove the left shifter altogether. Then I could also remove the cable and the front derailier..... less gubbins and shaves a few grams off.
I don't ride up steep hills so my chain is always on...
Yes, good point about a lot of dealers selling them.
It looks in your pics that you may haver the same gear shifters as me, are they Shimano EZ-Fire shifters ?
If so, has the thumb throttle fitted ok next to them ?
Hi Denwyn...... Its a shame that your bike is too heavy for what I really wanted, as i'm 6' 2" tall and it would probably fit me fine. I'm also a fellow biker and live not far from you in Bridgwater.
Best of luck with the sale. Its a bargain, i'm sure it'll sell quick.
BTW, what motorcycle is...
Yes. i'm sure your right..... and the price is very good.
It makes the fork clearance issue unimportant now I know I can just change the forks for that reasonable price. Cheers for the link.
Yes that's a very good option and I will consider that..... i'm aware that my Suntour forks are bargain basement and even when I bought the bike I thought I would need to change them at some point, although I've found no problem with them yet for my needs.
The only bike I've seen that's in my budget, looks right, has the right frame size and isn't too heavy is the Burisch large with 700c wheels. This is currently £900.
Although I haven't researched it enough to know whether its that good as an ebike.
Again, i'm sure its a good bike, but a) I don't like the way it looks, and b) more importantly, its way too heavy at 28 kilos.
My Carrera weighs 14.5 kilos, with a kit added I should be a tad over 20 kilos. This weight is around the max I want.
Yes I already knew that the brake cut out switches wouldn't fit and i'm prepared to do without them.
I reckon the throttle could be used with these changers, I would just put it on the left right next to the grip and just move the combined brake/gear changer along a bit. I've already tried...
I'm sure the Scirocco is a good bike and its a very good price, but an 18" frame just isn't big enough for me. I'm 6'2" and need a 20/21" frame, not only for my height but to also have a longer reach to the bars. I'm simply too cramped on smaller frames. I'm not too keen on mountain bikes with...
Yes, I wont be ordering a kit so soon as the next few days.... there's still the possible problem with the fork clearance that i'm not sure about yet, so may have to look at rear hub motors as well.
Its certainly a no brainer on price..... 63 quid is too much of a price difference not to take into consideration. However.... I've noticed that people on here have bought the more expensive Cyclotricity kit and I would like to ascertain whether there's any difference in quality, performance or...
Cheers for those links..... The dropouts are in the middle of the forks, but the inside of the forks have a cut out that raises 100mm above the drop outs, this is obviously to accommodate a disc, although this is still about 5mm narrower on each side than the dropouts. Its hard to explain and...
Does anyone know if there's any difference in the dimensions of the Cyclotricity and the 8fun front hub motors ?
My main concern being fork clearance, 100mm dropouts but they then narrow in on the fork arms by about 5mm each side..... although I would be prepared to grind a few mil off the...
