    Cycling hostility and decline

Maybe it’s a North Devon thing. Almost every ride out i get a motorist mouthing something out the window. What they shout out i reallly don’t know as i can’t hear it above the wind. It’s just a hostility thing. I am doing nothing wrong whatsoever. This is the reason my Big Bear has done just 570...

    Cycling hostility and decline

Last week a Tour of Britain stage was in our town in North Devon. Massive turnout to see it. Local news headline asked if this made us feel like taking up cycling as they stated there appears to be a national decline in cycling. The hostility comments towards cyclists on the news thread was...

    Braking motor cut

The bike dealer sells the brake sensors in their online shop. They tell me that i don’t need them. They say the motor stops when i apply the brakes without them having to be fitted. It doesn’t seem that way to me. How would it work? It’s a Bafang motor fitted into the back wheel.

    Squeaking disc brakes

Any tips for squealing front and rear disc brakes on a brand new bike? Apart from cleaning and aligning which i’ve already done.

    Braking motor cut

Of course, i do understand that they do leave off as much of the electrics as possible so that they can then claim their bikes to be rainproof.

    Braking motor cut

Well, i consider this to be a very serious safety issue. If you own a bike with these switches fitted you get used to it. You then buy a second bike without them fitted. At times, you have to think, while braking, why is the motor still going. Oh,i’m still turning the pedals or i’ve got my thumb...

    Braking motor cut

Is it common for some electric bikes not to have brake lever motor cut switches fitted?

Commute Bike - Folding or solid frame?

For that distance you will need 26” wheels or bigger and with rear or crank drive. Whether you will get any bikes that size onto a train i don’t know.

    Kwikfold Xite 3

I’ve ffitted a throttle and fitted the largest saddle i could find onto my NCX post. I did a 10 mile round trip taking in some very steep North Devon hills. A very pleasant ride. Mainly used level 3 with occasional 4 & 5 on the hills. The small wheels with a rear Bafang motor give excellent hill...

Do you mean this type? I have been thinking about ordering one of these.

    Crunching sensation

Not bearings. They are all new bikes. It must be caused by the chain slack being taken up as each cog enters a link.

    Crunching sensation

I seem to notice this on all my bikes. A crunching sensation through the pedals. Coming from the crank, chain or gears. Is this normal?

    Saddle sore

    Or this one?

    Saddle sore

My collection of saddles grow. Narrow ones, wide ones big bum ones, sprung ones, gel ones. And every one of them is numbing uncomfortable. Has anyone tried one of these Italian seats described as good and comfortable for electric bicycles? They look comfortable but how do you stop sliding off...

Have you ever seen a clamp i am looking for

Thanks for this. This is just the job if the measurements work out. I would not be able to use the upper half as i have got unique split folding handlebars. See my photo below of my bike with handlebar stem detached and just hanging by the cables.
